Jan, get a job here mate…I really cant stay up to watch all the football, All the major European leagues,most Int’l incl ALL the South American games this weekend. Just hope to see Oz play Qatar in my old home town (Brissie). Always get to see the Match of the day from Holland “live”.
But really just interested in Holland. Felipe your eloquence & in depth knowledge of Brazil socio economic situation still puzzles me, You should run for Brazil President.
Am watching Scotland Brazil “live” tonight, sorry Finn hopng for a Scotland win altho a draw probably best for Oranje.

@jan i mean kuyt is not a prolific goalscorer ,he wasted minumum three clear chances(i think total six) that to two one on one situation with ricardo that means he is fit striker for second divition dutch league like,goose,finni etc said.
abt vanpersie he dribilled too much in that game instead of that he could have tried some shots on goal(van persie and were excellant at that time).
but znijder did so many first time goal on shot all of the shots hitted portugese players body before going three feet.but he could have sliced the pass to others and they would have scored for us.
other wise let us see we will play kuyt as central striker and will watch the results and kuyt will prove this (Iam not a good striker)

Maybe I am getting sentimental (had a few beers so please excuse me) but just came thinking about the fact that here we are on this blog all talking about our love for Oranje, yet we have people from all over the planet:

For example (and please forgive me if I have left anyone out), we have a bunch in the US (Bob, Myself etc), Caleb and Dirk in canada, Carlos et al in Singapore, Jan and company in Australia, Goose lowiesje and Alex in Holland plus others, Tiju in India, Rob in Japan and the list goes on…

Yet the KNVB has never understood the opportunity to take Oranje overseas and has a shitty little website with a shop being the only English piece available. Now I understand the Dutch history of trading, but they are just being penny wise and pound foolish.

In any event, this blog is awesome and is the first thing I read every day.

@Finnster: not only crime. Our lack of punishment and cares about corruption acts is other stain in our country. Also the poverty (the income concentration is one of the biggest in the whole world). But I do believe all of this can be solved. If I didn’t, I’d have already naturalized myself in another country… and, hell, our economy is not suffering that much with the crisis around the world. Not yet.

I’m watching an interview from Jaap to Brazilian ESPN. Oh, he’s a gentleman. He says that, though Dutch people do not follow Brazilian football, our players still are great. And so is our national team. A team which drew with Bolivia 0-0 and lost Venezuela (the old South America sparring) 0-2! He also said good about Ronaldo, his old mate at PSV.

After all, that pitbull-faced back who played against us on France ‘98 is not a bad-mannered guy!

@Felipe; That may very well be the case, but I know I would have a hard time staying focused on my job in Brazil. Only been there twice (and on business) but man, what a beautiful country and friendly people.

If you go there, it helps to understand why their football is so free flowing. The people are just so happy go lucky, always looking for a party and very pretty too. Not much to dislike about Brazil, other than crime perhaps.
