Bondscoach Bert van Marwijk invited thirteen players for three extra trainings sessions with Oranje. It’s mainly to keep Eredivisie players fit for the two upcoming internationals against Iceland and Norway, early June.

The last competition round is on May 10 and players that won’t have to play playoffs are allowed to take an early holiday. Van Marwijk wants to keep the internationals, and a couple of youngsters, in their physical prime.

PSV winger Nordin Amrabat, Twente winger Elia and Ajax center back Robbie Wielaert are invited as well. Ibrahim Afellay, Edson Braafheid, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Dirk Marcellis, David Mendes da Silva, Stijn Schaars, Maarten Stekelenburg, Henk Timmer, Gregory van der Wiel and are part of the core Oranje group.

Van Marwijk will entertain the 13 at Hoenderloo. The training sessions are on May 20 and 21, May 25/26 and May 28/29. Internationals playing abroad aren’t needed. The English and German competitions end on May 23 and 24. The Spanish competition stops on May 31.
