Feyenoord only wants Bas Dost

feye players
Top left clockwise: Wijnaldum, Ryo, Fer and Dost…

With all the shenanigans at Ajax ( Cruyff, Davids, Janssen) and the financial woes at PSV, Feyenoord is capable of prepping quietly for the new season. We won’t find screaming headlines saying Feyenoord signed this or that player. Feyenoord will keep a low profile, this summer too. The Rotterdam based behemoth is still working to get out of the red figures and is doing so slowly but surely.

New Technical Director Martin van Geel doesn’t complain. He knew what he was in for when he came to his old club. Van Geel played Ajax and Feyenoord in the past and now he has held the management spots at both too. Instead of complaining, the former playmaker looked at little brother Excelsior’s squad and actually found a number of potentials. Guyon Ferndandez and Miquel Nelom are already signed to Feyenoord while Jordy Clasie and Kaj Ramsteijn receive the opportunity to show what their worth in the warm up.

The first big victory for Van Geel was obviously the signing of Ron Vlaar and Stefan de Vrij. With the return of Sekou Cisse, Dani Fernandez as left back and potentially Ruben Schaken and Bart Schenkeveld, Mario Been will have a squad that should be able to do a bit better than spot 10.

Van Geel is feverishly hunting Leroy Fer and Wijnaldum. Also the return of Arsenal Japanese Ryo Miyaichi is high on Van Geel’s list. And as cream on the coffee, Van Geel is silently praying for the presentation of Bast Dost of Heerenveen.

The chance that the tall poacher will come will increase if Feyenoord sells a player for a good bag of euros. Wijnaldum is mentioned but so are Andre Bahia and Karim El Ahmadi. The latter played half a season in the Middle East but will return to Europe as he misses the level there. El Ahmadi is seen – by Van Geel – as a top player but Been has a lot of quality midfielders and the former Twente midfielder is one of Feyenoord’s most expensive players. “For all parties it’s better if Karim finds another club.”

Feyenoord will have a normal warm up with trainings camps in Holland and England. Feyenoord does not have any European obligations and will be able to work in harmony towards the season start.

From Barca’s website:
http://www.fcbarcelona.com/web/english/noticies/futbol/temporada10-11/06/12/n110611117967.html

“Afellay has the honour of being the only player ever to have been signed in the window transfer window during the Josep Guardiola era.”

My response: F*ck Barca, F*ck Afellay, and F*ck the honour of being the only platyer.

edwin van der sar can say whatever he wants, but the reality is that with or without sneijder manchester united cannot challenge barcelona. at least next year. only real madrid and maybe ac milan seem to be a real challengers.

Srinjoy: the blog needs you,but try to accept other peoples’opinion, even if you completely disagree with them. let’s say,for instance i consider messi, xavi and iniesta (in this order) the world’s three best footballplayers, and your list is probably totally different. it only means we have different opinion, nothing more, nothing less. i love this blog because we are from all around the world,we have different opinion,we like dutch football for diferrent reasons (in my case: the total football concept, cruyff and his heritage, rijkaard and co,davids and co),we debate oranje- and more generally football-related things, and this is really great.

btw: yesterday i watched several youtube videos on cruyff and messi – the similarities are shocking!

Ferenc, i think i know what you mean with the similarities between Cruyff and Messi. but Cruyff does a better job of dribbling the ball to areas where their is more space. from the vids i’ve seen, i can tell Cruyff takes full advantage of time and space… whereas in comparison to Cruyff, messi kinda dribbles his way into a crowd.

@Ferenc re: similarities between Cruyff/Messi.. just imagine if Messi was blessed with Cruyffs height! Yikes

Deckard, what are you talking about? Don’t speak on behalf ‘of everyone on the blog’ because you don’t punk. Btw, I have no idea what this fight is about. I scrolled and read back and I still don’t get it. But I suggest to virtually shake hands and stop the childs play.

girls girls girls. Can we stop the cat fights? Deckard has a pretty checkered post history. (Deckard is checkered, get it? :) ) Tiju and Srinjoy, remember the old saying, “sticks and stones…”? Lets all try to get along. Jan’s only job on this blog should be posting new and interesting articles, not mediating every time someone has a difference of opinion

No one is needed on this blog except Jan, stirrers come and go,we’ve seen it all. To those who think they are needed, think of us as a bucket of water and you come in stirring the bucket with your hand. The water heaves and ho’s everywhere, becomes lively. Pull your hand out and the water is back at normal level. That’s us :)

Hello! I am back after my short vacations!

I read all post and comments which were wrote when I was on vacation…. certainty I am big fan of this Jan blog.

Jan thanks for post about new Ajax´s administration. The posts about PSV crisis, Feyenoord project and the great Edwin Van der Sar, were so nice too!.

Maybe you will kill me, but against Uruguay I saw Krull very nervous when he had the ball in his feet. He took too much time to pass or kick the ball. He is very young and he need confidence, but for me is very soon to declare he is the best option for the orange after Stekelemburg.

For me Van der Sar is the best goalkeeper I never seen in the orange (I just have 32 years old). Better than Van Breukelen, and Ed de Goeij, etc. In fact, I never liked this guy!. All my respect for this great player!

I have to confess I feel VER DISSAPOIMENT about the new Rick Van Wonsvinkel club.!!!!!!! Why go to Portugal if Netherlands is a very good place to improve as a player?? Why Utrecht sell him just for 5.000.000???? If he is so cheap, why Ajax or PSV didn´t sing him?? PSV don´t have any central striker (Koevermans and Berg are going out).
What do you think about this move?? You are not very nervous?

Pd: Heitinga don’t get married last year after the WC?? Why he was dancing (with his hand touching a girl ass) in a disco?? jajaajajaj …. Maybe Huntelar didn’t score against Uruguay but in Brasil he made some “goals”!
