i only saw the argentina game which wasn’t bad at all. they weren’t too lucky there and argentina had a messi who made the difference. they made a mistake at the group stage. they should have taken it seriously. nigeria got the final. oranje could have done the same. they were the only serious opponents of argentina. but i underline again: i only saw this game and nothing else.

@Jan; im afraid its gonna be a crap match; vMarwijk stressed in an interview that this game v Australia is just a prep game for wendesday.. it wont be as intense as the Russia game some weeks ago (wich was a great match for a friendly)

This is one of the stories which has leaked in the dutch media regarding Sno during the Olympics;

Sno had played an awful game and was summoned to deHaan’s office. deHaan and his assistants had made a video specially of and for Sno for him to learn from his mistakes. deHaan showed some of the incidents and asked Sno if he knew what had gone wrong during the game… Sno’s aswer; “thats just how I play” !!!!!! he just didnt care!

Foppe seems to support much of what we bloggers have written about these past several months regarding the “Dutch attitude.” It may be so much a part of the Netherlands culture that even excellent coaches can not overcome it. Foppe did it for two years, in winning the two consecutive U21 Euros, but it really did not come together in China. When the coach want to win more than the players, there is a problem.
