The horror…the shame……
The Dutch football team is doing everything they can to augment the Reputation of the Netherlands. We chuck everything at it: great football, results, Sylvie Meis, heck…we even used this Lithuanian chick and what do these stupid fans do? They ruin it for everyone! That’s what. They dress up like stupid morons and go to the game and sings stupid songs… Like “Lalallallaaaalallalallalalalalaaaallalaaaaahaaa” and another one goes “oleeeeoleoleoleeeee oleeloleeelelellleeeeooolllleeeeee”. I’m disgusted…

I want to get some crazy orange hat I can wear every time oranje play… I saw a cool legionnaire style orange helmet that might work

Hahahaaahaaaa

I reckon it’s classic… it makes the Dutch look like such a festive people. I saw some footage of the Dutch royal family at a town fair/fete near Nijmingden and they were taking crazy orange hats and clothing that the public had made for them and they wore it around the town having fun and singing with the townsfolk.. you would never see the queen or the British royal family doing that. I love to see that sort of stuff, they seem so down to earth and i reckon it’s great to see people going crazy… some of the stuff that the supporters wear are a little weird though

But Ayl…Eh… Aren’t the royals just normal people themselves? Who just happened to be born in a lineage of pirates?

i for one am not really happy with all that carnaval… the attitude surrounding Oranje has changed quite a bit since 1988….before that there was no dressing-up and no women and children…but eh; better this than violance
@Jan; watch what you say about our royal family…!! really!!

@Jan; lets just hope Hiddink will make it…my guess is we will have a better change of our attacking style football beeing played if we play the russians
yesterdays games showed us how hard it is to play against a team who just doenst want to lose…terrible; im happy teams like Greece and Roumania are out!1 anti-football is what they play

i am so stealing that guy’s windmill hat
i SO wish i was 100% dutch right now instead of 25%

I’m not Dutch at all, and I wish I was Dutch. But I was smart enough to pick them before the tourney.

Haha Jan
Careful what you say, some people may take offense…. not me though
I guess that they are just normal people but i just think that it’s great that they don’t let their status go to their heads. Actually, talking of ridiculous costumes; how bad is the Queen’s fashion sense when it comes to hats?!!?! UGLY!! I’ve never seen her wear a hat that didn’t make me feel physically sick.

And I am 100% Dutch and kind of proud of it too. I do like the Oranje outfits and the partying my people do. At the moment I am not that happy because I temporarily live in the USA. No partying on the streets and pubs, not surrounded by happy faces … some Amercans don’t even know this tournament is being played. I even hated the TV yesterday as the Oranje-game was not replayed on ESPN … at half time I had to take my sister in law to the airport and missed the second half and the goals. Can anyone tell me where I can find a video on which the goals are displayed? UEFA is really censuring the internet. It is not even possible to watch the matches on the computer, because UEFA does not allow people from outside the Netherlands to use Silverlight (the programm with which you can actually watch life coverage of the matches). Anyway: I’ll watch the Russia-Zweden match on ESPN this afternoon, as well as our match on Saturday. Go ORANJE!!!
