Radio commentary Jack, plus nice pics!

Why the heck not? Let’s enjoy this one more time, before Romania beats us 0-3.

Jack van Gelder on the radio with his commentary at Holland – France and some cool images of those nutty Oranje fans.

Enjoy :-)

I played Pro Evolution Soccer online today. I was Holland, the other guy chose Romania. End score: 4-2 to Oranje. This bodes well :-D

Hey Jan or any other Aussies out there; did any of you watch the Euro highlights show at 5:30 on SBS tonight? Did i hear Craig Foster correctly mentioning that one of the Austrian or German defenders (i forget who) was battling with Bouhlarouz to be the worst defender of the tournament?!!? (i’m pretty sure that i heard correctly). Is it just me who thinks that he has played rather well so far? Sure, his positioning hasn’t been the best, but he has made some crucial and critical tackles as well as playing quite competently from the back. So, do any of you fellow bloggers feel the same way as Craig Foster? Personally i think that he’s been great. I reckon Chelsea will want to bring him back off loan if his form continues this way.

Craig Foster only likes Ronaldinho. He is a bit of a tosser. Always drools over Barca and in his analysis he always picks the obvious plays and players. Boulah has done much much better than I expected and in both games he was a rock! I actually think Servet of Turkey is the worst. He is like a big plank of hard wood. Doesn’t move like an athlete, has very limited skills… But, he is focused and tough and doesn’t let a mouse through.

Boulah to me is one of the best. Even JC said so :-)

@Jan: Sneijder, Huntelaar, Van Persie all in the opening half an hour. They got one back, but I did a Robben and got a fourth almost immediately (with Sneijder again). Late on they got one back when Kuyt inexplicably whacked it across his own box to a Romanian guy – watch out for it!

Khalid Boulahrouz is awesome. I haven’t seen any huge mistakes from him yet. He’s a solid wall of defence.

Hehe, good old Jack; it’s mostly fun to hear him go on the radio. During the semifinals of the EC in 1988, against host Germany, he went crazy after van Basten scored the winning goal in the last two minutes of that game.

But doesn’t he fake it a bit? I felt that in the 1980s we got those clips of South American commentators with their gooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllll stuff and I felt Jack is doing his entertainer thing, with all that shouting… It doesn’t feel sincere, but seems like acting to me…
