Please dont be surprised if Raf becomes captain.
He was captain at Ajax and is captain at HSV.
As for Holland going under water, it has been below sea level for over a century. If we were still cave dwellers we would be under by now, but luckily we have the best water engineers in the world to "prop up" the land. Did you know these 2 very important facts (not necesarily in order of importance)
1. Amsterdam has more canals than Venice
2. Holland had more Real Madrid players than Spain at Euro2008

On the topic of future captains I'd say Gio (if he plays) Ruud (same applies/I think this is most likely) otherwise Sneijder. Big responsibility for such a young guy but I think he seemes like a good quiet leader; by example if you will. Though perhaps the Dutch need a real asshole leader to keep their egos in check.

By seniority rule, if Van Nilsterooy is still part of the squad then he will be the Captain; of course, I am assuming that Gio Van is no longer part of the team.
If any continent or country is to be submerged into the ocean by the end of century it will be Australia b/c it is "The Land Down Under". Jan, you better move to America or Holland!!!

Who will be the next Dutch captain. I'll vote for Snieder, although he played a very bad game against Russia(but who played well except Van Der Sar).
Off topic, I was reading a report from the NASA predicting that Bangladesh,Florida and Holland will be submerged into the ocean by the end of this century. Holland should win the world cup before that!! ha,ha.

@ kmhui: Dennis Bergkamp is expected to being his coaching career with Ajax. He will be part of Van Basten's staff as soon as the new season begins. According to skyports :"Bergkamp would serve the apprenticeship as part of his professional coaching course with the KNVB.". Van Basten is very excited to working with him.

Jan,

I like the team shot. This is exactly what I requested you for in one of the post. The highs and lows, ...etc.

Best goals scored by ORANJE? There's alot!

1. Sneijder's 2nd against Italy, stunning buildup, the ball from Brockhurst flew across from the left wing to the right, picked up by ???, popped back to Sneijder and whala!!!

2.the 4th against France, the way Snijder turned with his back towards goal, snapped, the ball flew and dipped into the top far left corner...wow!!!!.

3. Van Persie's against Romania, excellent knockdown control and volleyed! Absolutely no chance..

4.Robben's 3rd against France. It reminded me of Dennis Berkamp's goal against Brazil (qtr or semi's WC 1994), working his way on the left edge, beating 2-3 Brazilian defenders. On that thought, what's Dennis Berkamp doing these days? Will he be ORANJE's coach some day?

Guys, if your memory's still good, just replay those goals frame by frame in slow motion in your mind. It will transport you back to glory, the joy of how beautiful those will executed. It's almost like Nike Adidas commercial!
