Bern launches “Thank You Oranje” website

July 3rd, 2008 | By: Jan | 3 Comments »

Football mania has left the Swiss capital Bern, but they won’t forget the Dutch fans. Ever. Two weeks, the city was orange and the party went on for two weeks. The people of Bern found a way to thank the Dutch fans, via a website with photo’s and video-clips. The mayor also wrote a thank-you-note :-) .

That is just not right, that such a lovely story would end in sorrow .. I am still not getting it.

Marcel, the journey of life is one of joy and sorrow. Accept each for what they are. These beautiful pictures are physical expressions of pure joy and we should enjoy them often. Sorrows, shared with others, offers another form of a profound life experience. Blessings to all, and, forever, HUP HOLLAND!

There is a real shared love between the two countries. Just look at me. A Dutchman writing for the Switzerland blog! In the canton where I was born there are over 400 Dutch people! And every summer and winter it’s full of tourists in the Swiss Alps!

All the Swiss newspapers praised the Dutch fans for their attitude during Euro 2008.
