The news that we missed…

In the last ten days, we’ve been focusing on Brilliant Orange! And what a news we had…
But let’s quickly drum up all the news items we missed from other Dutch football topics…
Fred Rutten is out at Schalke and will be the new PSV coach. Dwight Lodeweges, currently in charge and with some – now fading – hope to become the new man, will most probably leave to take over NEC from Mario Been, who’s off to…
Feyenoord has renewed Diego Biseswar contract! The youngster was told to leave the club at the start of the season and his contract expired this coming summer. PSV, FC Twente and Benfica wanted to sign the mercury-like left winger but Diego realizes he has more to learn still in Rotterdam Good news for the suffering club.
Clarence Seedorf has set his sights on the WC2010. “I don’t know Van Marwijk, and that could be a good thing. A fresh start. And why not? I still play well, I am highly motivated and I won’t be the one blocking my return to the team. Still a year or so to go and I would just love to be able to play in South Africa. I’ve a special bond with Nelson Mandela and to be able to play there would be a dream come true.”
Benitez renewed his Liverpool deal and that was the sign for Dirk Kuyt to do the same. He’ll stay at Anfield till 2012. “I’m proud and delighted that Liverpool wants to renew my deal so early. I’m 28 years old now, so this might not be the last renewal, as far as I’m concerned.” Steve Gerrard signed a new deal as well.
Marco van Basten has his sights set on a new midfielder. One Rafael van der Vaart. “You never know. I also hoped players like him would return to Ajax when they are past 30, but if Raf wants to come now, he’s welcome.” In the meantime Ishmael Aissati seems to be the new go-to-guy for Van Basten. The intelligent playmaker will be the first to be placed on the team sheet for Ajax.

Marko Vejinovic… Remember that name. You heard it here first. AZ youngster. Fave of Van Gaal. 19 years old. Was lured to Anfield by Liverpool, but the Amsterdam born player returned to play in Holland. The more technical/tactical game. He’s AZ’s playmaker of tomorrow. Had some taste of the big game (against Feyenoord) and differentiates himself by playing virtually every ball deep. We’ll keep an eye out for him. If he’s good enough for Louis, he’s good enough for us…
Ajax assistant coach Rob Witschge has a torn Achilles. Pieter Huistra (of “Where are they now?” fame) takes his place for now.
And lastly: if Oranje wins the title next year, they basically follow our lead. This Netherlands Blog is outperforming all the other national blogs…Argentina, Italy, England, France…they’re so far back it hurts my eyes. We’re the World Champions Talking about Football!! Thanks to all of you

With allrespect to zeadorf
with out zeadorf we scored 3 against italy,4against france and minmum three goals we scored against other good teams .so why zezdorf?he past his prime and he should not disturb the team for his selfish personal interest.offcourse every wants to play for their country in worldcups. But now at any day i will prefer KUYT over zeadorf.at present kuyt is more valuable for the team.Zeadorf is having some experience in the pocket thats it.whenever he won the champians league he played in a balenced team which included several matchwinners and top clas diffenders.
so retrun of zeadorf will destroy the unity and balence of the team.and he is not running much.He will never do miracle for us mark my words.why i am saying beacause he played with a fantastic generation and he couldnt win anything with dutch.then how it is possible with current generation?

Tiju, I like your style
. With Seedorf threatening Kuyt’s position in the team, you show your true colors! Welcome to the We Love Kuyt But We Don’t Want His Hairdo Club, my man…
Totally agree on Seedorf. His personality probably doesn’t mix well with the current squad. The generation Seedorf/Davids/Bogarde/Kluivert will always be remembered as “the movie stars” (Ferrari’s, sunglasses, leather, bling) and this current group seems to take their football + prizes very serious.
Don’t fix it if it ain’t broken, Bert!

haha, I must have been the first one to mention Vejinovic on this blog, someone else might have mentioned him before though, he changed his name from Marko Matic to Vejinovic a while back. But always nice to have opened some foreign eyes. He greatly impressed me for young AZ this season. Should anyone be interested in dutch talent on any position, just talk to me
, I gots it covered.
BTW Aissati is most likely to opt to play for Morocco, too bad if he turns out to be the star playmaker of the next decade, then we might have gotten second best with Afellay instead of Aissati. but we’ll see.

Agree about Seedorf, his presence under V.Basten seemed to put extra weight on one end of the boat, and it threatened to tip over when Seedorf was benched. Seedorf fits the categorie of players like, Sneijder, V.d.Vaart, Afellay, but with the ego and the seeming arrogance of the former stars. BTW lets not forget the ego’s of the current best playmakers Rafael and Wesley, those two just manage to control themselves in the current competition for a spot in the team, with one extra like Seedorf things just can’t go anywhere but wrong.

Kuyt brings more balance and rest to the team, by dedicating himself fully to the team and team process. Even if Seedorf might have more footballing skills (Kuyt defenitaly lacks some creativity and ability to go past players).

Alex, were to have to put out a best team under 20 for us who would be in it

Alex, if you had to make a best under 20

@Alex, well spotted… He was certainly under my radar for a while. Tell us, how come you’re so into it? Do you watch many games at that level? Do you work in football?

I watch a lot of eredivisie games , oranje youth matches; U-19, and such, does help. And i occasionally see some matches from youth divisions like AZ or Chelsea. The names and positions of remarkable or noticable players just seem to stick in my memory.
I’d say, the best ones pretty much already play in the oranje youth teams
hope you don’t mind if i mention players who are on the verge of becoming 20 or already are. Not too difficult
for me the best or most promising up to 20(some might almost be 21) are
V.Wolfswinkel-Koc
Sarpong-Barazite-Wijnaldum-Vejinovic
V.Aanholt-Bruma-Blind-Janmaat
Krul(from 1988, so 21)
Besides them, it’s a pretty big pool of talent.
Luis Pedro, Vincent Weijl, Barry Maguire, Vurnon Anita, Nicky Kuiper:LB, Olivier Ter Horst:CB, Norichio Nieveld, Tom Hiariej(already 21), Jeroen Zoet: GK , Luciano Narsingh, Leroy Fer, Luuk De Jong(brother of Siem De Jong), Genero Zeefuik, Geoffrey Castilion, Rajiv van la Parra, Ridney Cairo, Mustafa Amezrine:GK.
BTW Ozghan Ozyakup is one of the stars of U-17, and Gilliano Wijnaldum is a good player to and Robert Oepkes, leftback?, is a strong defensive player.

i’ll post a real U-20, so all 19 or under, later here.
