Wondergoal: Peter Houtman

September 2nd, 2008 | By: Jan | No Comments »

Wonder goals are really wonder goals when they’re scored in important matches! Peter Houtman - currently stadium speaker at Feyenoord - was a typical Wim Kieft like striker. Tall, static, strong in the air. The guy started his career at the Feyenoord youth, then was told to leave (not good enough). He played for FC Groningen where he just kept on scoring. Feyenoord took him back and he won the Dutch title alongside Gullit, Cruyff and Wijnstekers. He left for FC Groningen again and if I’m not mistaken his even came back to Feyenoord yet again. He also had a stint for Sporting Lissabon in Portugal.

The man scored mostly with his head, but in this little clip we see him inspiring Van Basten with a huge bicycle kick, against Ajax! Don’t flinch…
