Netherlands Blog kicks ASS!!! (Thanks to you guys…)

Goose & Finnster having a laugh…
I wanted to post this many moons ago, already… But I didn’t… Didn’t want to rub it in too much (others are lurking here, you know). And I didn’t want to blow my own trumpet too much…
But…
Fair is Fair…
The Netherlands Blog rules for months already.
I get sent the statistics of all the national team blogs and the Offside club blogs and I have to say man…our blog is leading the way. We have by far the best statistics, in terms of pageviews, visits and comments. Not only is Oranje the best on the pitch, Oranje is also the best in talking
.
It’s a known fact that Dutch people always have something to debate about. As JC famously said: when you tell Spanish players the gameplan, they say: Si mister. In Holland they go: yes, but…
.
That makes for difficult to manage players, but it also makes the best internet blogs!
So, thanks guys, for making this place full of awesomeness…
However, we should not rest on our laurels. Argentina is in hot pursuit, while France, Italy and the USA also have their eyes on us. So keep it coming…
As for the Offside stats… The Netherlands/Oranje/Eredivisie/individual clubs could use some help. We are nowhere near a decent position there. It’s the EPL, Italy, Bundesliga, Barca and AC Milan kicking up dust for us minions…
Feels out of balance. So, please support my mates of the Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Heerenveen, Twente and Eredivisie blogs there from time to time ok?
By the way: there are no prizes to be won, there’s only honor
.

I check this site every day, Jan keeps me up to date. We both are mourning Feyenoord’s demise.

I know this site is very popular because sometimes when I do a google search on football things (usually dutch related) THIS SITE comes up in the top 5 which indicates it gets many hits, not just from regular donaters but there are many “lurkers” here too and I am sure they too will come out of their shell to contribute. Even just to say “Portugal Sucks” or more
.
and……JAN absolutely RULES – where he digs up the stories is his private little secret Long may it continue as I go to this site daily many times just to read the articles and contributions. So many people have soooo many stories and views that normal reports do not carry.
I salute ALL of you too.

Jan- I read this blog AND comments everyday. Most blogs I can’t be bothered to read as “fans” are just fighting about who is a true fan. Here I learn something almost everyday. Plus I am equally proud of my fellow Canadian readers who always have something great to say! And goose just makes laugh. Thanks Jan
Portugal Sucks!!!

It’s no surprise really, we have a great blogger and lots of great commentors! I’m just like everyone else, this blog is a part of my daily routine, probably multiple times a day. Also have to agree with Jess above me, as opposed to lots of other blogs, the commentors here are really great – I read all the comments on this blog, which I usually couldn’t be bothered to do with other blogs. Just goes to show the quality of the people we have here!
Also, Andrew’s right, the first round is on me – but I’m not worried, because there should be many rounds after that, hopefully bought by other people

Congratulations, Jan, and well deserved. I check back in periodically, and I believe the quality of your information is now better than ever. The articles on the World Cups in the 70s were fantastic and, for me, very informative. You corrected a great deal of information about those two events, and which is much appreciated. Amazing how some of those stories got going, and believed for so long, at least here in the US. Keep it up, fella–being competent and excellent is what all Dutch try to do, and often succeed!

Great to see Bob back on the board!
@Andrew and Caleb (and anyone else): It would be fun to try organize something in NY for one of the WC2010 qual games in spring if anyone is coming through town. We could check out that place that Goose suggested. I will anyway and report back if it is any good. I think there was a group of Dutch fans that hired the place for EC2008, so I am not sure if they still run all the Dutch games there but I will find out. Place have a lot of nice screens. Hopefully it wasn’t a one-off event as the youtube video looked excellent. If that fails, I have multiple alternatives, especially when Oranje plays Scotland and Norway again

Gotta get my travel plans sorted then… The Dutch are as thrifty as the Scots, so whenever someone shouts, I’m in
!!

Ooops… I arrived at the post a lil’bit late…
Anyway: Jan, I should say a huge THANK YOU VERY MUCH for doing this blog. It’s a great bless for anyone who just can read things on Dutch because of Babelfish. To read something so good, so hi-quality, in English, I mean, it’s really a bless. I don’t think there’s any blog about Dutch football who can touch the foot fingers of this one. Either here or on the ones from Offside. I mean, where can we find some funny discussions about… Oranje on EC1980?!
And a huge hug on my comment colleagues: Finnster, Goose, Carlos, Bobotoh, Michel-Olivier, Alex, Caleb, Tiju. Thanks for receiving me so warmly at the blog.
Don’t worry, Jan! We’ll help you to hold the 1st position on WCB!
