Wow Bob, that's cool stuff. Americans leading the way in evangelizing Dutch football? I'll check it out! Just read that the Australian Football Federation have invited Hans Westerhof (ex PSV, ex Ajax, ex Mexican club (?)) to do some workshops in Oz and a big name ref (Mario van der Ende) is going to Australia to coach the Ozzie refs.

Good stuff happening...

Finnster, thanks for the fair play video--it was terrific! Where do you find these things? For someone here in the US, you seem to have an information pipeline to Netherlands football items.I appreciate them.

Jan and others, just purchased and spent several too many hours reading two new books about Dutch football. The titles are "Dutch Total Football", by Terry Michler, an American high school coach who has been immensely successful for many years using the theories and practices of Dutch football. His summary of the history of Netherlands football is excellent, and his 40 practice drills are well explained and diagrammed. The subtitle of this book is "How the Dutch created 'Total Football'--Their Tactics, Drills and Coaching Methods".
The second book is entitled "Coaching the Dutch 4-3-3" by Robert Podeyn. He has coached in the Netherlands and the US, and has worked with Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem. This describes in detail the fundamentals of coaching the tactics of the 4-3-3, including a description of each position and a picture with explanations of many practice drills. Both books are, in my opinion, terrific. They are published by World Class Coaching in Leewood, Kansas. Email address is www.worldclasscoaching.com.
This is another example of how much respect the world gives to the teaching and coaching skills of the Netherlands. HUP HOLLAND!

How can you not get exited by seeing this gentleman in an Ajax uniform? Looks sharp too. I want one of those comfy windbreakers.

Speaking of gentlemen, check this little Ajax snippet out. I think it is against Den Haag a few years ago (think Ajax eventually won 3-1). Ajax player gets injured, other team plays the ball out so he can get treatment. Watch what happens next. Now that is what fair play is all about.
