Worse for Ruud

Nah, it’s only a good thing for het Oranje (de Oranje?). RvN is one the most determined players I’ve ever seen. More than ever, he’ll be determined to score a shedload.

While I’m not so familiar with all the players in the preliminary squad, Ruud is one of the best, if not the best, striker in Europe. He’s got a brain: he was the first striker in England to understand and use the change to the offside rule a couple of years back. He has more vision than you’d normally associate with a striker. He first touch is excellent and does not often cede possession. Can van Basten really pick anyone else to lead the line?

The African players have used the new ball at the Cup of Nations. Watch Ruud become the first non-African striker to adapt to it.

I like your optimism. As far as the squad goes, you’re right he is definately the best flat-out striker.
