World Cup Officials Cracking Down

March 5th, 2006 | By: Matt | No Comments »

The officials for the World Cup have decided to get tough on foul play at the finals. Apparently time-wasting, elbows, and diving will not be tolerated. Hmmm diving? Any guesses as to who might be the first victim of the strict diving enforcement? If anyone is in close personal contact with Arjen Robben, please forward him the link above or pull him aside for a quiet word.

I still remember the crack-down in France 98, any challenge from behind produced a red card. Tougher enforcement of diving is great as far as I’m concerned, but it must be said: diving is a big part of Robbens game. Keep on your feet Arjen, you’ve been warned
