Torres - was playing at a sub-top club and then moved to a top club. Robinho - is a confidence player and I think he really likes the big fish in a small pond feeling he gets at Citeh. I’d say that in general the EPL is stronger than la Liga, but it’s always difficult to compare an entire league to another one.

@Dirk – don’t forget that there are other circumstances to consider with the players you listed:

They all come to the EPL and are immediatlely stars because besides the Big Four the EPL is weak. When you look at Torres or Cristiano Ronaldo or Adebayor last years top 3 scorers, I think only Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal against another top 4 team.
