Why do we need these crap games in the 1st place???

Hell Yes I’m mad! Angry, pissed off, you name it…
Seriously! Why would the KNVB organize two friendlies 7 months before the ^&*$# WC in one of the busiest times in the season??
Why risk all this? Sneijder out. Van Persie out! Congrats, people. “But we did make some euros!” Kesler will say.
Well, whoopdidoo, buster!
1. These games are always crap! Who cares, really? The only cool friendly I’ve seen was the one in Sydney against the Socceroos coz I got to see my two teams play together, because it was a big deal for the Aussies, because I won’t get too many opps to see Oranje at work live and because I could hang with Carlos and his charming wife and family. And Peking Duck!
2. If you play friendlies, at least try something new. Or new players. Moving Robin to center forward cannot be the main reason to play this game. Even Stevie Wonder can see Robin can play center forward by simply following Arsenal!
3. Sneijder is out for some time and will miss Inter-Barca and Robin might be four months out… For a fukcing friendly game!!!! Which even ended in a boring 0-0!!! What did we learn?? That the KNVB is run by MORONS!!!!!!!!!
4. The WC team will be gelled together weeks before the WC, not months.
I think this will not be tolerated like this much longer.
The season is too filled up. Too many games, at the cost of players’ fitness and safety. And we get to watch months of football sans Wes and Robin. And that’s cruel!
If the KNVB needs to make more dollars, let them invest in a friggin’ English website so 1000s of non-Dutch people will buy friggin’ jerseys!

Michael Oliver:
Who do u cheer for???. USA, France or Pitssburgh Steelers?. Or perhaps NY Yankees.
Gents, we are all Oranje fans. M-O is as big an Oranje fan as I am, and so are you Mario.
We are all entitled to our opinions, and although I am not Dutch and wouldn’t know how to ask Oranje Angel out for a drink if my life depended on it, I am as big a fan of Oranje as most of you. I am certain the same goes for M-O and Mario as well.
We are all disappointed over the VanP incident, Italian cheats, Spanish blog trolls etc., that’s understandable, but lets not start arguing amongst ourselves. We are too big for that.
Lot of us saying that Michel oliver is negative and pessimistic. But facts are facts, we cannot deny that. There is no place for positivity and negativity.Beacause we are going to the hell intensly.that’s stupid. Its impossible to win a world cup with Vanbommel, Gio, Ooiger,Kuyt kind of players.Previously I doubted heitinga but he convinced me that he is a good competitive center defender for us. So that issue is sorted out.
Mark my following words
1. With BVM we will not win the worldcup.why because the following reasons.
2. He may say he is open to all ,but in fact he is stubborn against the young energetic players. Which is essential for victory.
3. If he wants to give senior player a chance it must be Zeadorf not vanbommel,Drop znijder to current vanbommel position and let him play like Xavi,I mean not as a complete holding mid like vanbommel.
4. I always respected Gio and Ooiger but they are too old now.By retiring from the national team they can help the team to win the WC.
5. I respect kuyt for his work rate and footballing brilliance and physical strength but you will never see such a player in a CHAMPION TEAM. we can accommodate him in the team if the players like deguzman, castelen are injured.Poor these guys are prone to injury and kuyt is lucky.
6. Hedwigs maduro can play much better than vanbommel in same position.Interseting thing , is very very brilliant in build up and he is physically much better than vanbommel at the moment.BVM is blind to this option.
7. Why he is not trying babel as main striker. this guy is talented and he can hold up the ball and he is much better finisher than kuyt.
8. As I said earlier we need to do the seedings for each positon in oranage .BVM will not do that.why because vanbommel will loose his spot.
9. I think center back postions problems are almost solved.but LB remains a big question mark for us.if bauma recovers in time it is solved.but I don’t think so.Now every body hailing Dwight tyndalli in left spot.why cannt try him in that spot. The problem with gio is he is too slow and weak and brapheid is more than poor in offensive aspect.
10. Zuiverloon is the best rightback of orange at the moment,if we take diffence and offence in account,if we need more offence use vanderweil as a substitue.BVM is completely Blind to this.
11. Since bauma is out of question Dwight Tyndally is best left back of orange now,he is also not in the team.
12. Urby is in form of his life and in fact he is head and shoulder above lots of players in the current team.BVM is ignoring him also.
13. Urby can also play like vanbommel in the same spot.but you all know BVM doesn’t have too many DAUGHETRS.
14. This is time for grooming and polishing the team.we don’t have to test vanpersie, vaart, Ruud, EDVS, znijder, roben, mathejnson, kuyt etc kind of players, they have already showed what they are capable of. Its BVM ‘s duty to give them good supportive back up for them.
15. Favoritism will cost us heavily.
My final point we have enough resources to win the WC.But the concerned peolples are below par…………..

Ok Finnster…I just don´t like negativism…saying 100% Oranje won´t win the WC is something I don´t like but ok. Let´s not argue between us…you are right mate.
@tiju
I agree with 95% of what you said.
favoritism, this is the problem with van marwijk when it comes to bommel, he does not want to hear or see that any other player is better than his son in law in this position. mark my words, if van mawrwijk keeps coaching the neds till euro 2012 you will always see van bommel in the holding midfielder position. it is useless to waste our time trying to dream about having someone else in that position!
guess what, he will not even try in the friendlies because he is worried that for example afellay might impress every one if he plays in that position and then he is embarassed to go back to van bommel, so he prefers to avoid this embarassment that will show his favoritism!
Alaa.
BVM will be sacked after the WC2010 lose.Beacuse Vanbommel is not going to play well.i can see a severe issue is coming up after the loss in Wc2010.(that is favoritism).
Its sad that this madman is spoilling such a talented generation for his GREED and STUPID STUBORNESS.

We are all entitled to criticise but ask yourself this ? Have you coached before ? Have you coached professionals before ? Have you coached a famous team before ? Do you earn $250,000+ a month as a coach or as an anything ?and finally have you coached a top nation before ? If your answer is NO to any of the above then you wouldn’t understand what BVM has to put up with and what he goes through and especially how he thinks. I read some remarks here that just make a joke of common sense, however thats why God gave us opinions (no matter how fanciful). But just remember where you’re coming from and what you have achieved in life and if you are on par with the “Big Boys” who are at the top. Ever wonder why some people reach the top as a “Boss” and you plod away always just being in the ranks ?
Experimentation will come – nearer to the date. How many of you complained that we only played against weak teams – How will our defenders fare against big teams like Italy ? (you have an answer now, so does BVM).
I am quite sure against Paraguay there will be experimentations just like England second half. I believe BVM will even start with a few different players in different spots. – Lets See !
AS an Arsenal fan I am not happy – especially with Bendtner out as well, but these things do happen. The tackle looked OK to me.

To the person commenting on me being a hypocrite
.
The Aussie trip has been commented on a lot here. I think it was worth it from a “bonding” perspective, as Carlos mentioned.
I said I liked the game due to the fact that I could see my fave team play my second fave team. That’s not hypocrite. That simply honest.
But, all in all, I don’t care for friendlies and certainly not in a busy time when there’s lots at stake at club level.
Having won the series means you don’t have to play two more games, like the numbers 2 in the qualifications. Bert should have allowed players a rest, or should have taken them on another team building trip to somewhere nice (Ibiza, Crete, Portugal) instead of letting them play a tough match with all this risk. Can you imagine how Benitez would have reacted if Kuyt would have been injured?
It’s not responsible anymore.
But I feel all European leagues should go back to 16 clubs, meaning 30 games per season. Allowing ample time in summer for team managers to create “automatisms” with the teams. A season should go from mid August to Mid May. End of story. We’re killing our players. No one should want this.
Just watched the footage. I’d say it was a fair and really good tackle on the ball. Sorry…
Carlos bro got ur point in all means. But remmeber if i want to come to go singapore i should catch singapore FLIGHTS,not LONDON FLIGHTS,if i catch that i will reach london not siganpore, but the interesting thing is even an airport servant is able to guide me.So destination is the focus.Bert is on the wrong flight…..
By the servant Tiju and Co………:-)

@Carlos
If he is getting paid millions that does not mean he is a God. how many coaches have we seen were getting paid millions and millions and the results proved they were worthless???
so buddy being paid too much does not mean he is doing the right thing and taking the right choices! and by the way buddy, van bommel is being heavily criticized in germany beckenbauer included, we as crazy fans who have been watching every single game since 1988, we also know a little about football.
@Jan
dont wory about that..we are all behind you………

hahaha Tiju
. Catching a Delhi – Singapore flite can be done by a 10 year old – dont need to prove that anyone would know how to do that, as it is not Rocket Science. Guiding you to a check in counter is not quite the same as coaching the 3rd top nation in Football !

@Carlos bro i just thought you will reply like this..it is symbolic dont take it exact meaning(dont think about complications in both process) but take it as a whole process.

I do agree with Carlos. We shouldn’t be so much critical. I think BVM is doing what he is doing by design. he is having his own plans. As for new faces, he has been giving names and might be unleashing them on a latter date. Right now, he might well be focussed on streamlining and strengthening the core group for the WC 2010, which for me cannot be a bad idea. he could be assessing the guys who will shoulder the bulk of the burden of Oranje push for the CUP. First cement the core and assess its strength. Then go for the plasters, textures and the colour paints, right!
Cheer up Tiju, M-O… Good will happen

Someone commented that the Italian defenders were congratulating Chiellini for his “injury tackle” well again you have no idea about this game. ALL defenders congratulate – hi 5, click fists/chests etc when a possible goal is blocked/thwarted. It happens in EVERY game – just watch and observe our own boys or your team. That vP was injured so badly they were not to know as most attackers squeel/fake/dive when they are barely touched so this was no different to the Italians.
vP is currently my favourite player but hey lets get perspectives right OK, next time he is in that position he will probably heel it back and make the defender look silly and score – hope it’s in the final – then we will all say “lesson learnt!”

vP said today he is travelling to Yugoslavia where Engelaar and Lazovic went to quicken the 4-6 weeks that he’s out. Arsenal have given him permission.

Ferenc, our Dutch players aren’t selected for the Ballon D’or mostly because our best players are injured too often to contribute in a vital way to their clubs. This doesn’t mean that WHEN they’re fit they can be just as good players as those who ARE selected for the Ballon D’or. But achievements is what counts.
van Persie deserved a selection though but he had a bit of a slow start to the season and the Ballon D’or selections were done quite early, I guess he just missed out.
Bayern in 7th position (it’s actually 8th, just checked) says more about the qualities of vBommel/Braafheid (and the others who have been playing lately) than Robben (or Ribery for that matter). Whenever Robben is playing Bayern look very different, but he can’t do everything on his own. So Bayern in 8th position is not always that good of a reason not to select someone from Bayern for the Ballon D’or (did Ribery get selected? Robben is just as good as Ribery and has played more this season).

Ah see, they DID select Ribery. I’d have to go with Jeff’s opinion, a biased comittee. Or actually other factors that matter more to them, like marketing and finances. I guess Ribery has a better marketing aspect to him, seeing that there are more possible French/Ribery fans/customers.

But I guess it’s also based on performances over the entire year and I haven’t seen Ribery early this year. Still think that performances in this season should count just as much which is in favor of Robben (and Robben was also good at the end of last season for RM, so really, there’s no reason not to select him for Ballon D’or come to think of it).
At least if you look at total performances from DEC 08 to NOV 09. I’m not sure if that’s the period but the winner will be anounced on December 1.

Sol,i’agree, marketing counts for the nominations. actually i don’t watch too often bayern (almost never) but people following the bundesliga say that they ere really different with robben. and this is my main concern and i asked it before and repeat again (because noone answered): why our key players are so injury-prone? you can say rhat it’s not exceptional because rooney, gerrard etc. are quite often injured as well or at the beginning in his career messi was injury-prone too. but considering that they have to play too many games, busy calendars (agree with Jan – uefa should reduce the leagues to 16 teams) etc. our key players are too often injured. why? it’s bad for them, for their clubs, for oranje.

I still think its to do with fitness : Kuyt hardly gets injured (but he’s a madman for fitness), neither does de Jong nor Mathijsen, they are all very fit players. However having played both attacker and defender myself I found myself ALWAYS getting injured as an attacker and NEVER as a defender. Therein probably lies the answer.

“Can you imagine how Benitez would have reacted if Kuyt would have been injured?”
With a lot of scepticism looking for the hidden camera to see if he’s on candid camera (or similar shows).

Carlos: “ALL defenders congratulate – hi 5, click fists/chests etc when a possible goal is blocked/thwarted.”
Very true, I should have mentioned something like that as well on the Italian blog instead of:
“His reaction afterwards could have been a bit more sportly or respectful towards vPersie though. Allthough that doesn’t always say exactly how he feels about the incident of course.”
Since what you said was basicly what I was thinking of when writing that. But I can certainly understand some fans as well taking offence to that.

Van Persie will miss just over a month…I told you guys, let´s not panic. When a player screams doesn´t mean that he lost his leg!. I play football and I twisted my ankle a couple of times and of course I felt pain and I did scream but in a month I was running again.
