When the World turns Orange…

June 11th, 2006 | By: Mike | 29 Comments »

…Where will you be? Where do you plan to watch the tomorrow’s match? What time is it on in your time zone? Will you be watching it with a large group or anyone in particular?

For me, I’ll be at home on the sofa with a fellow Dutch supporter. The game kicks off at 9am EST here in Ontario.

I’ll get to Lebanon (Middle East) 1 hour before the game. First I have to look for a place where I can watch the game, maybe my uncle’s house in Beirut. I am gonna be with a family most probably. Everybody is a Brazil fan, so it’s gonna suck seeing me get nervous and yell and scream very loud when they miss any shot. Wherever you are, hope u enjoy seeing our boys win their first game in Germany 06. I was never that nervous before. They better win, otherwise my whole vacation is ruined.
See you boys

I’ll be in my unit in Byron Bay, 11 pm, family in bed no doubt, headphones on, glass of red wine (it’s winter here, brrrr). Australia matches I’ll watch in the Northern Hotel in town. More fun. But Holland games I need to see alone, I get all worked up by others around me, chatting, shouting, whatever… Not for me… And eh…I am nervous too…

At 9am EST, I’ll be at work in one of those big box electronics stores, wearing my Oranje Robben jersey and trying to watch it in Home Theatre.

Yeah Alaa. My plane leaves in less than 6 hours. I couldn’t sleep. I’ve been up all night. I hate this time change thing. It’s killing me. I was gonna buy a V. Nistelrooy Jersey, bas it looked so cheap and mmbaahdaleh.

My buddy will be wearing his #9 Kluivert shirt as well and I’ll have my #11 Overmars shirt.

>Dutch Fan: Safe traveling!

>Jan: Do you mean to say that you’re watching the World Cup and its COLD outside? Just this afternoon I was outside kicking a ball around trying to pass the time until I could go to bed. It is beautiful and warm in Southern Ontario.

it looks like van der vaart is not going to start in the line up tomorrow, but do you think he will play some minutes in the second half? i hope we score first and keep leading all the game so that vnb doesn’t need his services, this way we make sure he is fit 100% for next friday game.

I will be most likely with my girlfriend, but no beer drinking (I have my own match to play later Sunday night). Gonna be really concetrated on the game. I will wear my #11 Robben Home shirt, as they will be dressed in full oranje (from head to toe in Robben’s case, if he wears the TUNIT X-32 Holland).

In my bedroom at 8 AM (in Texas), wearing the Oranje jersey w/black shorts but probably watching alone b/c nobody else will be awake. I guess I’ll have to be quiet, though that will be very difficult!

Yeah mate, it’s winter in Oz. In the day it’s 20 degrees C, but when the sun is gone fishing, temp drops. And these houses here are built for summer, not for winter :-) . But I have the feeling it’ll be bloody hot in 4 hours from now…

Im so excited, nervous.. Counting the minutes, seconds and fractions of seconds.

I’ll be with two of my friends and my girlfriend. All of them Dutch fans. Well my gf supports them because of me.

Where I live.. the match starts at 3.30-4 pm.
I’ll watch the game, screaming, shouting, crying and jumping in my living room, home, in Jounieh (next to beirut), Lebanon.

It still surprising for me to see how many Lebanese are there on this site supporting the Netherlands :)
