What a GOAL!

June 16th, 2006 | By: Jan | 13 Comments »

I hesitated before I wrote this post. And then I thought….ah well, it’s Group C news…

Half time at Argentina – Serbia Montenegro, 3-0. And the 2-0 is in my humble opinion the Goal of the Tournament (for now of course…. Ruud, Robin, Arjen, Rafael, Mark, Wesley are you paying attention??), but it was a wonderful goal. Wunderbar…

Well, the good thing is, if we win (match starts in 15 minutes) we don’t have to beat Argentina yet. We can wait till July 8. Enjoy the game!

Another great result for the Oranje, I think …. with this result, they can’t get complacent and should be more determined to win instead of seeking a safe draw result.

I’m getting so freaking pumped up that I’m shouting alone (managed to sneaked in a day off work today!) …. aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

GO ORANJE!

P.S.: MvB must be the coolest coach – just look at his expression on the pitch

This is driving me crazy! We are giving IVC too much room and time with the ball …. nothing from our midfield.

ONE word: PERFECT start!
Huge confidence boost for van Persie and RvN!
Nothing – not even Argentina – can stop us now!

GO ORANJE!

I don’t think I’m biased but I DO NOT think that #11 Robben dived on that yellow booking.

MvB should address the midfield at halftime.

GO ORANJE!

i agree with u H. This definitely did not deserve a yellow card. But also on the other hand, drogba did not deserve one either.

Another thing i agree with u.. our midfield is obsolete. Completely. I think i didnt see sneijder playing today. Im not even sure he touched the ball. Also cocu is playing badly. i think.

Im so happy and glad to finally see van der vaart. that makes me so happy. Finally. :)

2-1 the last goal should not have taken place. Damn..

Lets see what happens in the 2nd half.

i have the images of orange_czech.rep(2004)when we were 2_0, and then we lost 3_2, they are scaring the hell out of me.

Well, then it was a difficult call. If Robben got foul, how could he not fall, a speed runner he is. Believe he is punished by his reputation this time, seemed like a legit “fall” to me.

Our defenders, except for Heitinga, played well so far.

Midfield is not present – expect some substitution at halftime, I really want to see Maduro plays since he is supposedly the one with defensive mind.

Can’t ask more of our Forwards. It’s just that with a display like this from van Persie, it will be harder and harder for Kuyt to go back to the lineup.

Who do you guys think will sub in 2nd half? I’m guessing vdV and Boulahrouz for Sneijder and Heitinga.

I’m still freaking nervous and got charged up (partly due to 3 large servings of caffeine that I have had since 6 AM)

GO ORANJE!

yeah alaa, i was thinking of that exact match. Great start at the beginning, good presured first half, but in the second havem Holland was lucky to conceed no goals. Van Persie was the man of the day, he chested the goal out that was shot by ivory coast, else it would have been a different story. Holland was playing way to defenseive in the second half, and i wont even speak of the last 5 minutes.. anyways, we played well, we could have done better, but we are through! Cheers
