Weekend news pt2
I’m back….
Tottenham Hotspur lost again, 1-3 against Newcastle United. Martin Jol’s defense lets him down again… Rough times in London.
Arsene Wenger reacted relieved after Robin van Persie’s scan. They expected the worst, but the knee injury is not as bad as feared. Still, Van Persie will be out at least another three weeks.
HSV Hamburg coach Huub Stevens predicts that Rafael van der Vaart will be fit much sooner than the predicted three weeks.
Heerenveen beat AZ Alkmaar 1-0, with a late Alves goal. The sensational Brazilian striker was courted seriously by AZ in the summer. He wanted to go, Heerenveen didn’t want him to leave. Grudgingly the mercury-like striker stayed and now sealed AZ’s fate. Louis van Gaal is not a happy trooper. His AZ is number 12 in the standings, with 8 points from 8 matches.
FC Groningen, De Graafschap and NAC are the joint numbers 4 behind Feyenoord, PSV and Ajax.

Good to have you back Jan:
Goal by Alaves was offside btw….looks like Az are gonna have a ‘HSV season’.. a season were everything goes wrong…think they already can forget about the tittle! at least they can now focus on the Uefa Cup were they play Sint Petersburg whos manager is:……Dick Advocaat!!
Look out for Fc Groningen (who won at Fc Twente), strong team, good manager (Ron Jans) new stadion (Euroborg)…the manager has been at the club since 2002 and the team have staedily(?) improved….good team
Jol will be gone very soon now….

I like Ron Jans… I can see him move up in the world. I think he would fit PSV pretty well. Feyenoord will go with Van Marwijk for some time and then sign MArio Been I guess. Martin Jol and Ajax???

@Jan; yeas, Jans is a very good trainer but also very nice and very funny (really funny) i know he has been a teacher of german at a middelbare school after his footballing career…thats what i like; a man who has made his won life after football and than after a while gets back into it and proves to be a great manager….unlike these pamperd boys from 1988; Koeman, Rijkaard, vanBasten….its all been made to easy for these guys
dont think Ajax can pay his salary.would be ok for Ajax if it were possible..Adri Koster is not gonna work…
