Weekend action…

O Neill congratulates Hiddink….

Another weekend of football action behind us and lots of cool things to write about.

There’s the Hunter… Apparently, he started out a bit lonerized and forlorn in Madrid but he has netted three goals by now. Two yesterday, and it could have been a hattrick even. Klaas Jan has arrived!

Then there’s Sar! Van der Star is secretly hoping to replace that Belgium goalie’s record from 1990. How cool to get that European record behind his name. At first I thought Blackburn Rovers took it away from him, only to find out that Edwin was enjoying himself in the stands. Van der Sar didn’t play, so the record chance is still there.

And we’ve seen Guus Hiddinkski making his mark in the EPL. Cool as a cucumber, he did his first press conference, winning over the English press, not much later his team won three points against rivals Aston Villa, with a fine performance by Alex, Lampard and Ballack. Is Guus able to create magic yet again!?!?!??!???!!

AZ in the meantime, wasn’t phased after dropping points last week against PSV. They won their next match this weekend, in a clean style again: 2-0. The goal scorer? El Hamdaoui of course.

PSV – under Dwight Lodeweges – knows what winning is, yet again. Not an easy one, but the three points are in the bag. 0-1 away in Groningen. Co Adriaanse informed the nation that he’d be interested in the PSV job, but with Lodeweges record lately, maybe Dwight should stay on…

Feyenoord won 0-2 against De Graafschap, with decent play and El Ahmadi and Tomasson goals.

Ajax got lucky in the old fashioned way against Volendam, 2-1. In the final minutes, Volendam missed two sitters and saw a goal disallowed. Aissati played his first minutes for the Sons of Gods.

FC Twente won their away game against a rugged Sparta, 1-2.

Clarence Seedorf was match winner for AC Milan, while Dirk Kuyt salvaged point for Liverpool.

It is strange that there is no comment about Huntelaar. Guys, wake up! Huntelaar has scored two goals in one match for Real Madrid.

bobotoh, yes and I was in Vietnam when that happened so didnt see it…but saw it on you tube. He should have had 3 goals !! but I guess when you win 6-1 and all goals are scored within 30 minutes of each other, the glitter quickly dies. We all know he can do it and now he’ll get more time on the pitch with the CL occupying Raul and Higuan.
