Weekend action in the Eredivisie…

April 5th, 2009 | By: Jan | No Comments »

And the excitement builds up. NEC seemed to have lost it with Mario Been announcing his move to Feyenoord, but they kept no. 2 Twente at 1-1, allowing Ajax later today to come closer to the number 2 position. Ajax won their away game against troubled Roda JC 1-2, with a wonderful Suarez goal and Aissati’s first competition goal for Ajax.

PSV won a game again and is moving closer to the top 4. Feyenoord could make a big jump to the right column by beating low places Volendam.

But, the club in strife (financially and in terms of results) failed miserably. And I mean, miserably!!! True, two balls on the posts (Biseswar and Wijnaldum) didn’t help, but Feyenoord led 0-1 (Makaay) before Volendam fought themselves back into the game. And won, 2-1.

If you are this close to at least finishing the season with some kind of result and you can’t win/beat
Volendam, I’d say pack it in! Sorry bunch…

The internationals have been covered already in the comments, so I’ll leave those for now (Ooijer, Real Madrid, Van Bommel)….
