Weekend action in the Eredivisie…

Well, Twente had Ajax visiting and….Twente won! Who says Mr Umbrella is not doing the right thing?
Being number 1 in the standings is one thing, after 12 odd games, but shaking off the prolificly scoring Ajax with 1-0 is simply great for the Tukkers. McClaren still doesn’t want to talk title – good on him – but Twente is doing really good!
PSV has found their mojo again. After a number of close calls ( late 1-0s) they thwarted Ado Den Haag, 5-1. Ola Toivonen, back in the starting line up, scored four, with Bakkal making it five.
Feyenoord had to face AZ in Alkmaar, and although AZ is in trouble Feyenoord coach Mario Been expected a tough match. “I simply don’t want to lose. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster, since we’d still have AZ on 5 points.” And that’s what the man got. Feyenoord dominated the first half, with Cisse scoring the 1-0. AZ was nowhere, but Feyenoord couldn’t benefit more. In the second half, AZ fought themselves back into the game, and ex-Feyenoord marathon man Aussie Brett Holman scored the equalizer: 1-1.
FC Utrecht lost their game again, so Feyenoord is firm on fourth spot, after Twente, PSV and Ajax. AZ is now number 8 in the standings.

i still say that mr. umbrella is a bad coach… no respect for him. maybe in 10 years, but he “achieved” almost the same thing with a very talented english squad as luis with oranje before the 2002 world cup. twente will never win the eeredivisie and won’t go far in the european league. ajax is still better and hope they will be the champions
