Weekend Action
Many have commented on Real Madrid’s victory over Washington DC now. Always a tough game, Washington away
. Good to see Robben not being affected by the bullshit. He will make a good season in the Bernabeu, I’m sure. And so might Royston. Wes will need to move quick, to a club that really wants him… Wouldn’t mind seeing him in Munich. Or London.
In Holland, AZ and PSV dropped points last week and this time around FC Twente kept PSV at bay: 1-1 in Enschede. Douglas scored for Twente and Dzdusdzak (jeez…) for PSV.
Feyenoord wanted to keep on demonstrating they left their drab season behind them, but they couldn’t impress away against Vitesse. Apparently, it was uninspired, static, slow and predictable with the best opps to win the game for Vitesse.
Martin Jol is still puzzling a bit with his team. Last weekend he used Enoh as the center midfielder, this time around he replaced the “business-like” Enoh for the more adventurous Aissati, playing against RKC. Ajax won this game 4-1, with three Suarez goals. Ajax squandered many chances again, and Suarez hit the post twice. Defensively, the sons of Gods still looked vulnerable.

AZ also put their slow start behind them, with an inspired game against Sparta (2-0). Koeman used the royal couple (as the Dutch saying goes) of Dembele and El Hamdaoui upfront and Sparta didn’t stand a chance.
Ajax and FC Utrecht lead the standings, with Twente, Feyenoord, Heracles and NAC trailing by two points.
In England, Chelsea won the Charity Shield after penalties ( 2-2 in 120 minutes of football ).
Kalou scored the winning penalty. Man United’s Nani had scored the first goal after ten minutes. Ben Foster, Sar’s replacement, had a howler of a game allowing Lampard a goal. Carvalho scored Chelsea’s second. Wayne Rooney scored the equalizer in the end of the match.

PSV… Ai… Manolev kept tackling and tackling and tackling and tackling… recklessly. Fred Rutten must’ve thought he spent the wrong money when he had to replace him with Jan Kromkamp! It would have been even more embarrassing if he earned his second successive red card. We really should’ve bought Zuiverloon…
And Salcido on the bench… I guess about time Erik Pieters shows his potential as LB, but if he’s sitting on the bench for longer, he might get his chance to play in EPL. After all, I remember in an interview that Salcido said it would be nice to experience the EPL for 1 or 2 seasons.
It wasn’t a bad match, pretty exciting actually, but in the end Koevermans f-s us up again. “Dope” man ain’t going to score goals like “dope” if he ain’t poking the ball into the net when you get a beautiful 1 v 1 chance. Lots of chances, entertaining, but feel bad for PSV.
But heck, Boeren!

Too nice jan
, i have seen ajax match , most thing i liked was van der weil performance , he scored a goal and was really wonderful . Drenthe is on the right path , he will compete with arbeleoa and i am pretty sure he will be in the starting eleven by the end of the season , robben will be real madrid star also in the next season , will be better than ronaldo , vdv is close to inter milan , may be ac milan , anyway .. It’s good news , both are good options ,
sneijder will suffer a lot if he stayed in madrid !
also there is a news about zuiverloon move to psv , that will be really great , the national team and psv need him , let’s wait and see !

Jan, the penalty shootout was taken after 90 minutes of football (not the usual 120 minutes). the trend of Community shield!
Great to see Ajax getting 6 out of 6 in the first twoo matchdays.
I can see Sneijder moving out of Real sooner rather than later.
Looking forwardto see Daniel de ridder playing regularly for Wigan after Valencia moved to Old Trafford

@ sandesh , yh yh you are right bro , I almost forgot this guy , though he is one the best talented dutch players i’ve ever seen , but he is unlucky , he deserves to play for a world class team .
He may take babel place if babel couldn’t covince benitez to start most games .
Robben (elia ) – kuyt (de ridder)

@Jan, with the World Cup beckoning do you think Oranje will bring a full strength side to Sydney come October??

Jan ; i reckon you didnt see the Eredivisie games… AZ was not an inspired game..it was a terrible bad game but Sparta was just even more bad than AZ…Koeman will make a mess of it; im pretty sure
Ajax played ok ;
Twente and PSV had a terrible game ; both goals came after mistakes from both the goalies…only interesting thing was that Marcellis was substituded during the game, a nice move by Rutten
Feyenoord indeed looked pretty weak; most interesting thing of the game was the fact that Makaay was substituded for the 2nd time in a row…he played awful
NEC beat Heerenveen 4-1 ; Heerenveen look extremly crap this season…dont think theyre gonna win much this season
Utrecht – Willem II ; 1-0
NAC – Heracles ; 0-0 in a game without public
it was all crap games this weekend ; the dutch league is getting weaker each year
off topic ; Advocaat has been fired at Zenit today
Den Haag played 2-2 v VVV ; pretty rough match, 2 reds for Den haag… Den haag got 2-0 up but it didnt last (ofcourse)
VVV has the most interesting player in De Eredivisie at the moment ; Honda; a great player from Japan, im pretty sure hell move to a big team pretty soon (he scored 1 yesterday and also had a great goal v PSV last week

Sneijder or V.d.Vaart would be perfect for Inter, they lack any real leading midfielder, and Real have two of them too many. Anyway, Ribery is said to go to Real too next season so Sneijder should leave soon for the sake of his reputation and career. He was well on his way to become one of the leading midfielders in the world in his in 2008.
BTW it doesn’t matter what V.Nistelrooy does, he’ll be seen as a legend anyway, he could play for Zwolle and still attract a massive amount of fans.
BTW if Manolev can calm down a bit, he’s not that bad at all, only thing is he’s too ruthless, what he does might be normal in Bulgaria or whatever, but not in western Europe, still i won’t judge too soon since “the Tank” Alex wasn’t exactly doing so well in his first season.

Let me share my prediction of this season’s ending
top 5 2009/10
1-Ajax, champions and sell Suarez for 25 million.
2-Twente, lose at least one influential player, eventually trough to semi-finals if Europa League
3-PSV, get lucky and finish third, quick ending in europe
4-AZ, knocked out of CL in first round, Schaars gona at the end of the season.
5-Feyenoord, Vlaar makes it into Oranje, Been can’t make any more out of it.

Robben is not for sale according to Pellegrini.

BTW NAC Breda trains regularly on some fields just 3 minutes away from my house, lol. Cause they’re gonna build at their stadium.

@Goose – I’ve seen Honda before, he plays for the Japanese national team now too. I agree, I’m sure a bigger team will snap him up soon.

yes I’ve seen Honda he is a great player and now he is the top scorer of eredivisie with Suarez .. they both scored 3 goals

i think Ajax and PSV have the best change of winning De Eredivie this year with Twente close at them (they will have more energy now they dont play Champ. league… AZ looks a lot poorer than they did last year
Utrecht and NAC could be the surprise teams
still ; its sad to see De Eredivie getting poorer in quality each year

@Leon – Australia v Holland Oct 10. Bert is taking his best team and everyone is looking forward to the trip. It is a Fifa designated Internatonal for Saturday and Wednesday but Holland only playing the one game. Bert reckons clubs will be happy with his decision and the players really loving the idea of going down under.

Goose
, you caught me out!
I’m in bloody Australia, I don’t see the Eredivisie action. Sometimes I see one game live 12 hours after the fact.
Most of my Eredivisie comments are borrowed from Dutch media (ANP mainly).
So, I’m sorry if it appears I try to propagandize Dutch football…
.
Didn’t know that about the Charity Shield though… Oops.
As for Oranje Down Under: Bert is not the type of coach to suddenly invite second-tier players. His mission is to keep the core group motivated and he’ll use the Aussie trip for bonding as well (as Carlos already said).
There’s a fair chance some players won’t make it due to injuries or slight injuries or issues at their clubs, but I think we’ll see Robin, Robben, Klaas Jan, Nigel and co, provided their fit.

@Carlos/Jan, thanx for the info!! And Oranje propaganda…nothing wrong with that! The masses must be made to understand
