Mistakes happen, live with it, learn, and get the next shot right. Don't dwell too much on something that failed other than to analyze it without emotion (which is very hard the first few seconds, but then again, play goes on, so you have to stand right back at attention). I've seen both Robben and vPersie (more often vPersie) so annoyed after a failed action to forget about tracking back for a few seconds or so (or doing something else useful). It doesn't happen too often and usually it has no or little consequence, but I'm a perfectionist and if you're talking about achieving perfection...well there you go. The other part of feeling too much anger after a failed action is that you can start to doubt your ability to produce the goods, and if that happens, you won't produce and you'll get frustrated. Anybody see the Italy game? You notice that once Rossi scored that first goal the WHOLE team started playing better with a few players in particular (Pirlo, de Rossi)? Simple mattter of starting to believe in yourself again. So other players (but most importantly things that occur during the match, like a goal) can have a positive effect on what form other players in the team are playing at(in?). So form isn't something that is determined and set in stone for the entire match, it's something that changes along with the emotional state of the players. So if you draw any conclusions from that, it might now be so smart to take off an excellent player if he's having a bad day, since it's not actually a bad DAY as we're so used to calling it, but more a bad 30 MINUTES (or whatever) and it can change by a goal or some fresh players on other positions creating exciting(/energizing) moments/chances/creative play getting other players out of their negative thinking.
