van Basten is dull?
I really love passing along all of these articles that pop up. There was one yesterday (or two days ago, its all a jumble) that said van Basten was not like Sven who stood on the side-lines and was very general-esque. Now comes another article saying Marco van Basten is a very dull boy indeed. He doesn’t talk to his players but that’s okay because he’s an artist and that’s how most artists are - dull.
I recall seeing footage and pictures of Marco participating in training and laughing so I don’t quite know where the sources are coming from on this article. It’s true that van Basten hasn’t said anything stupid, controversial or remotely flamboyant thought likely by design in another attempt to keep the pressure off of his squad.

Wow, what a silly article. The team reveres MvB because of his personal and down to earth approach. And he coaches actively at training. And he says funny things. See the Huntelaar remarks to kids. Or the total openess at interviews.

as a ‘bondscoach’hes the same as he was when he was a player;
cool, calculating, proffessional, doing anything to win,distant,
maybe not much to write about for the journalists but who cares,
I HAVE TOTAL FAITH IN SAN MARCO
(for the moment)

I think Van Basten should learn a lesson from Germany Coach Klismann.
They are both young, and without many coaching experiences.
The good thing about Klismann is that, he trusts the players he uses, this gives both the player and the team confidence. That’s why Podoski can score 3 goals in 2 recent games. But Van Basten changed striker in this very important match, this caused the team question about themselves and finally lost the match.
