Update on news…. Ajax talk of the town…

Ajax Icon and former technical advisor Piet Keizer slams the club in his weekly column.
He refuses to call Ajax general manager Van den Boog by his name, but calls him Van den Boboog ( a word play on the term “bobo” which basically means “ignorant board member of a football club who took the job for his ego but doesn’t understand a thing about football”, in short ). He blames the man for Van Basten’s demise.
“How far must he have gone to push Van Basten out and allow him to euthanise his coaching career?”
“Ajax needs a ski-coach, who can coach the club on their trajectory down but still manage to land on your feet…”
“Where do you find a coach who is so committed and honest to look in the mirror and criticize himself?”
At the same time, the name on the top of the short list for the Ajax job – Co Adriaanse – has told the club he won’t be available. The 62 year old wants to focus on winning the title with Red Bull in Austria and wants to take more time to ponder his next step.

In the meantime, in Spain, one Johan Cruyff has told the Italian media that AC Milan should sign Van Basten (huh? ) as their new coach, to succeed Ancelotti. “Van Basten has proved he’s ready for this. He’s had the experience with Oranje, now with Ajax and Guardiola proves that inexperienced coaches can win prizes…”.
Dennis Bergkamp has accepted a formal coaching job at Ajax. The Menace will take on the D-youth.
Dick Advocaat is close to signing a deal with the Belgium football federation to become their team manager. Good luck, Belgiums!
( I’m sorry to put Advocaat’s name in the same post that offers the 4 biggest names in Ajax history…)

Yep, it’s a done deal. Two years in Munich. Or maybe less

schaars/de zeeuw and dembele/hamdaoui will also go

Don’t do that … I remember what happened to Zenden, Bogarde, …

So, what will happen to AZ? Can they do something in the CL?

Is it good or bad for Dutch football?

Bobotoh – Have to wait and see. I personally doubt if AZ can continue their way without those players and van Gaal., but stranger things have happened. Only good thing is that Schaars will be subjected to a higher grade football if he goes. Don’t be surprised if De Zeeuw ends up in Spain or England.

OFF topic -Message and lesson to Bert Vanmarwijk
Yesterday MANU won the match against wigan by 2-1.A very gutzy performance from MANU.thats why they the champions and they are going to be the champions of england and europe again.
Determination and confidence of the players are on th hill.
Very recently against astonvilla, spurs, wigan they came from behind and won the matches in crucial times.BVM should show these games to our players if they want to win WC2010.we are not at all good chasers if we concede a goal earlier then we can pack our boots thats the situation in dutch team.look at the managment of ferguson last game he dropped rooney, berbatov and yesterday tevez, gigs on the bench WOW.

I always thought that AZ could do something surprising in the CL:
IF they have a gutsy coach with savvy tactical insights like Van Gaal or Adriaanse. Both are not going to be there, but maybe the to-be-appointed man has the right profile so we can tick this off
IF the core players stay in Almaar. If Schaars, De Zeeuw, Dembele and El Hamdaoui leave, it’s back to square one, I think.
IF they get a lucky draw. They might be the fourth team in the draw (or the third) and than it’s up to luck and all that jazz. When they draw for instance Barcelona, Werder Bremen, Panathinaikos they have a fighting chance. Barca will beat them all, so AZ could get a result against the others and surprisingly end up at number 2.
If it’s Barca, Liverpool, Olympique Lyon and AZ I think it will be tougher.
Once they’re past the group stage, anything can happen.
This AZ could beat Real Madrid for instance. So, with a good day for AZ and a bad day for the opponents and maybe some luck in the other leg (Barca gets kicked out by, say, Arsenal) they might get far.
I said “might”. And I said “if”. Many times…

@jan its all permutations and combinations.so dont even think about it.
With out schaars it is going to be very tough for them,Van gaal too

And so Michael Laudrup said no to Ajax as well. The Danish wonder player said his Dutch isn’t good enough for him to coach in Holland.
Morten Olson has been approached (who worked in Amsterdam in 1997 succeeding Van Gaal) but he hasn’t commented further.
Other people on the short list are Steve McClaren, Ron Jans (FC Groningen) and current technical manager and ex-skipper Danny Blind.

Pretty sad list to be honest. How far have the great fallen?
Of that list, you have to pick Danny Blind.
If they go with Umbrella Man, I will personally fly to Amsterdam in the summer, buy 200 umbrellas, rent 200 students for 1 hour and protest outside the stadium.

Finn, you’re killing me
