UEFA draw for AZ Alkmaar

October 9th, 2007 | By: Jan | 6 Comments »

Tough times ahead for Louis van Gaal and his youngsters. AZ knew to avoid Bayern Munich, but will need to take care of Everton (with Andy van der Meyde), FC Zenith Sint Petersburg (with Dick Advocaat and ex-international Fernando Ricksen), Larissa (Greece) and FC Nurnberg (Germany, with Thomas Galasek and Charisteas).

October 25 is the first match day, AZ plays away against FC Zenit.

I think it was one of the easiest draws they could get.

yeh Lerkot; pretty decent teams in this years draw… maybe the one with Hapoel, Getafe, Spurs, Anderlecht (az i.s.o. Spurs) would be easier? really hope they do well…think Az is the one with greatest change of glory (not much btw , haha)

do the first 2 teams qualify??? im lost..

btw; Jan; still cant get used to this new format, it even looks like its more quit than before on this blog?? well, nothing to do than just keep on writing

just a few more days and its d-day!! Romania should not be underestameted and i really hope that vdSar will be fit and play in this game… its funny; only when hes injured do you realise how importent it is to have a good and solid goalie…esp. with the defensive that we have; they can use any confidence a goalie can get them

grtz

So true Goose, that goalie comment. I agree.

As for the new layout. I’m okay with it. It is a bit sad that we can’t read all the posts in it’s entirety but still… For me as an author it works much easier. I do hope everybody will stick around.
