Transfers Pt 8
Feyenoord isn’t ready with buying yet. Greek striker Charisteas is sold to FC Nurnberg in Germany and van Marwijk definitely wants to replace him. They’re also looking for a defensive midfielder. Jon Dahl Tomasson will not return to Rotterdam. He will stay another season at Villareal.
Bolo Zenden has signed a new contract with Olympique Marseille for 2 years.
Royston Drenthe tops the list of Barcelona and Chelsea as well. And an as yet unnamed Italian top team has also approached Feyenoord to talk about the young midfielder. It seems Real Madrid really wants to do business…. Now Robben and Chivu aren’t coming (yet) it seems Calderon really wants to deliver. The big question is whether Feyenoord and Drenthe will withstand this huge opportunity. Since Drenthe was developed by Feyenoord, all the money from a transfer will end up in Rotterdam, other than with the Kuyt Liverpool transfer, when even amateur club Quick Boys got a part of the loot.

Jan: i read that drenthe would prefer barca to real and thought that the catalan team played more attractive football. is it true or one of the usual cucumbar season’s gossips? (anyway if he thinks so,he’s right. if he choose the money he will play at real,if he choose the heart he will play barca or stay at feyenoord).

Feyenoord bought Michel Mols (ex FcDenHaag), was a great striker a few years ago but got injured in some Cham. leg. match against some german team (Jan?) and never really got to his old level but decent player, good technic..
Madrid doenst want to pay the money that Feyenoord is asking (12-13 mln euro) Madrid wants to pay about 7 mln…i can see Feyenoord point; why not try, if it fails and he plays a great season next year they can ask even more..

Hi all, Michael Mols played for the Rangers against Bayern Munich and was severely tackled by Oliver Kahn I think… He played a super match and it seemed Glasgow Rangers would upset Bayern. Mols went off, pretty injured. He plated for ADO den Haag recently, Goose will know how fit and able he still is…
