@Stephen; if you make it you and your sons are more than welcome at my home, same goes for all you regulars (ill inform my wife at the shortest moment possible, hahaha)

would be great though, WC in Holland, i think they do the bid alone without our belgium friends

Tradition is nice, but I think just getting playing time is what Robben needs, and playing at the biggest club in arguably the best league in the world can't be so bad now can it? I don't think Barca has any Dutch players any more. MvB gone. Gio gone. I do agree on Robbens diving tho. Very embarrassing. And who knows, maybe we will see Raf van der Vaart follow to Real in the not too distant future.(I think he has expressed that desire). Now that would be fun, Ruud, Robben and Vaart.

World cup Holland/Belgium?....hmmmmmm. If they win the bid, I think I will start a WC 2018 savings account to get myself over there. Goose, could I stay at your place? hahahaha.
When does FIFA make the official decision?

@gooze: it would be really great!

about real madrid and dutch players there: i don't like at all that oranje footballers are going to this club. in spain they have a club with a rich dutch history so their natural destination in spain is not madrid at all, but barcelona.

anyway with or without dutch players real madrid is a kind of money-machine with a stupid president and an even more stupid technical director. they were lucky bastards this year, but it was their last triumph for several years. i really hope that such a sympathetic and taleneted guy like drenthe will choose another destunation (after staying at least one more year in holland),and this destination shouldn't be madrid.
don't forget guys that barca's coach is one of the best players of the history of dutch football and JC is still there (behind everything).

anyway i hate real (chelsea too) so i can't be objective about this topic. of course i like ruud, but to be honest, robben is not too sympathetic (divings,etc.).

some interesting news on the side:

dutch government supports the KNVB bid to host the WC in 2018!
think they feel confident after the EC2000 and the ECU21 of last month, would be great!!

I'm already a fan of Real Madrid because Van Nistelrooy is there, and this season was an absolute blast to watch! I hope Robben comes too. I used to be a fan of Chelsea and Robben had a great first season there, but it's all been downhill since Morinho came in. Downhill from a spectators standpoint (uphill as far as silverware is concerned though). Morinho's Chelsea is boring to watch and I've lost interest in them, and Arjen is always in and out of the team, so he should definitely leave.
I think Drenthe should stay in Holland for a little longer though, although it will be nice to be able to watch him play for Real Madrid. Hope it doesn't hinder his development.
