Tranfers Part 6.

July 2nd, 2007 | By: Jan | 6 Comments »

Feyenoord technical director Peter Bosz has confirmed that there are several European topclubs after Royston Drenthe. “And yes, one of them is Real Madrid,” the former player said. Drenthe is now on a holiday and will sit down with his manager after that to consider the different offers.

Real Madrid has also officially contacted Chelsea for Arjen Robben. The former PSV winger cannot seem to get an agreement with the London club. Khalid Boularouz is courted by several Spanish sides, among others Sevilla and Real Zaragoza.

Romeo Castelen is approached by Paris St Germain. They want him to replace a former Feyenoord right winger, Bonaventura Kalou (big bro to Salomon at Chelsea).

Jurgen Colin, former PSV super talent, is one of those boys that left too early. Went to play in Belgium and was a contract player for Newcastle Utd last season. Now, he is doing a test week at Ajax, where his former NAC-coach Henk ten Cate is at the reigns.

Drenthe should stay
Robben should go

Ok, as a side and totally unrelated to the above post, sorry Jan ;-), we as Oranje fans have been completely unconvinced of Oranje’s play since Marco van Basten took the reigns a couple of years ago. With that said, what in your opinion has been Oranje’s best performance in the past 10 years? Was it one of the clashes between Arg or Brazil in ‘98? or how bout the 6-1 drubbing of Yugoslavia in Euro ‘00? Anything from Euro ‘04 stick out? Or has it all been ok, not great and we really haven’t had a Dutch treat in a long, long time?

Good question… As far as I am concerned, I’ve seen them play pretty good football in ‘98 and ‘00. In the qualificationfor ‘02 we played a great match away against Portugal, only to screw it up in the last 10 minutes…

There was some good football in the first half against the Czechs in ‘04… And I really didn’t mind some games under San Marco either….

oranje-south corea 5-0 (wc98)
oranje-danemark 3-0 (ec00)
oranje-yougoslavia 6-1 (ec00)
oranke-scotland 6-0 (ec qualifier,03)

i don’t know yet if i’ll go to the ec next year. anyway both switzerland and (especially)austria are close to hungary,so i might decide in the last minute.

what do you think about drenthe? will marco titularize him soon?
