Support for Drenthe at Madrid

Real Madrid-coach Juande Ramos calls upon the Madrid fans to support Royston Drenthe and Marcello. Both players were the target of severe booing against Depor last Sunday.
“I want to ask our fans to support our players. They really need it. Support Drenthe, support Marcello!”, said Ramos in newspaper Marca.
Ramos: “We may not have gained on Barca, but we did well. We win games. We get the points. We need to focus on ourselves and be ready when Barca drops points.” Ramos also had some words for Huntelaar, the Ajax-signing who hasn’t been able to impress.
“It’s early days for Klaas Jan. It’s a tough step from being injured at Ajax to performing at our level. With all due respect. But he needs time to settle in and I can see he’s making the appropriate steps. I’m not worried.”
Arjen Robben, the current He-man at Real, was even optimistic. “Nothing is lost. We still have a way to go. Weirder things have happened in football and I remember some chilling final match days even in Spain. We should just focus on our game. We’re improving every day and we’re still in the CL. It’s too early to give up.”
Royston Drenthe was even mentioned as “meddling with Real’s technical strategy”, when the Spanish papers reported Drenthe talking to the Madrid board about signing Feyenoord’s Wijnaldum.
Drenthe: “No, I never did that and I never would. But I do talk to Georginhio on a regular basis. He’s my bro. I love him and I follow everything he does and Feyenoord does. The fact that Feyenoord goes so bad really hurts me. But Wijnaldum is a class act and he won’t need me to blow his trumpet. Everyone in Europe can see he’s the real deal and he’ll make his decision when he makes it. And it will be a good one.”

Drenthe sucks!

Is Drenthe still rapping? I remember a video with him from two years back. It must be said that since raul Bravo I haven’t seen a player so ill fitted for Real where even the pitbulls are refined ones. Drenthe is not as good as he was hyped to be.

I think people are too harsh on Drenthe. I like him, he has lots of heart and I think he has a future in front of him, at both Real and Oranje. I don’t care for the attitude he shows sometimes though (for example, the ipod during the game thing before). I don’t really care for his rapping either, but hey, that’s his personal life and he can do whatever he wants there (it just sounds stupid if he wants to play the “thug” card).
It really pisses me off seeing supposed “fans” boo their players like that though… sometimes these so-called fans are real idiots.

Try telling that to his team mates sitting in the bus waiting for him to buy his fake Rolex in China?
He has no future unless he change his ways, and that is in a BIG way!! A big heart?, he does not even know what a heart is. Disgrace, that is what he is. And I really mean that !!!

amen finn!

Drenthe would be better of in Serie A. Defenitaly. I would go to Juve if I were him. There is going to be a big vacant spot on the left(nedved) in one or 2 seasons. He’ll have all the possibility of developing there.

Oh come on Finn, are you telling me that you never did something immature/stupid/selfish when you were 20 years old?? Sure, he’s got some maturing to do (what 20 year old footballer doesn’t??), but if he can do it he’ll certainly have a future.

@Caleb: I keep doing immature stuff and I am 45 years old. However, I never let it affect my job nor did my team mates at work ever had to endure any sufferings because of my actions.
That is the difference.

@Finn – I guess so, but everyone has to learn sometime. Also, the whole story with the watches is probably way blown out of proportion anyways. It probably annoyed the other players but probably wasn’t a huge deal.
