Super weekend in Holland…

Leonardo, making the difference…
It would have been good to get some excitement back in the Dutch Eredivisie. For instance, AZ losing against PSV. Ajax losing against Feyenoord. Something like that…
But no, PSV was down 2-0 and fought themselves back in the second half, with Danny Koevermans as the big man for the Eindhoven team.
Ajax was too strong for a defensive and cowardly playing Feyenoord, 2-0. Interestingly enough, Kennedy Bakacogliou (??) was given a starter position up front again, after having been told twice now that he is allowed to move on. But Kennedy gets the nod everytime Ajax plays a strong opponent (AZ, PSV and now Feyenoord) because of his skills in keeping the ball up front… Hmm….
Apparently, ex-Feyenoord winger Leonardo made the difference in the second half with his speed and depth…
FC Twente won their game against Volendam, 2-1 while NEC and Heerenveen shared the points 1-1.
I can’t add a lot to that, really…
Good that KJH scored his first in Madrid…

Yes I guess “cowardly” is the right word for Feyenoord who could have shown a bit more guts in their playing style – they are not short of good ball handlers either. True Leonardo made a HUGE difference with his runs as it freed up Suarez and Urby quite a lot.
Oh I am meeting Ferenc this evening – first some drinks at our Wine Bar and then off for Chilli Crab and beers (sorry Finn !) in between watching the German/Primera and FA cup replays over the weekend.

Shit, wish I was with you…
As for Feyenoord…i was thinking of a cool line up of still active former Feyenoord players…
—–Jerzy Dudek———–
???–Hofland–Engelaar-Drenthe
—-El Ahmadi—Gio———
Kalou—-Van Persie—-Leonardo
———-Kuyt—————-
Coach: Ruud Gullit

@Carlos and Ferenc: Very jealous indeed. Hope you lads have a great time, good to see that this great blog leads to people meeting up. A Hungarian hanging out with an Aussie in Singapore, all because of this blog and Oranje. What is there not to love about that?

I was quite shocked to read this piece on Timesonline discussing the saga at Ajax between the fans and “The Swan of Utrecht”. The picture tells everything about a dire situation …but let us hope things are now head in the right direction for my legend Van Basten and my Ajax!!!
All the best to The Great San Marco Van Basten.

Lots of wine (neither of us drink beer) good food and chatting and tonight he will be initiated with that Famous Singapore King of fruits DURIAN…. Oh boy that will be an experience for him !! Hahaha then lets see if he is still smiling. Lots of pics have been taken by ferenc!

@Carlos: Oh dear, DURIAN… I wonder if he will think it’s his socks that stinks? Those things would be banned from most refridgerators. Lets put it this way, it is somewhat of an “acquired” taste

Just close your nose and eat. it’s heaven, durian. The best. You can also buy Durian drinks right? With a touch of rum…
