Sneijder scores and other news…

August 26th, 2007 | By: Jan | 1 Comment »

Wesley Sneijder scored the winning goal for Real Madrid against rival Atletico, 8 minutes before the end of the match 2-1. The new signing received a little tap from Guti’s free-kick and hit the ball home, with a little deflection. But, deflection or not, a goal is a goal and the prolifically scoring midfielder was the hero of the day. Atletico scored the 0-1 in the first minute. Raul headed the equalizer home before Wes helped Real and Schuster grab the three points. Ruud van Gol and Royston Drenthe both started.

AZ Alkmaar got their first defeat against Vitesse. AZ didn’t play like AZ at all. PSV Eindhoven on the other hand, scored 5 times against NEC. The totally renovated team whirled passed their opponents, with 2 goals by Lazovic. Perez and Affelay guided PSV towards this convincing victory.

I am so happy for this boy. To score thw winning goal in a derby is a huge thing and luckily Sneijder did it in his very first game of La Liga. Hopefully this would be a good hint and he can do things like that oftenly at Madrid. Hala Madrid!
