Seedorf wants Van Basten to change tactics!!!

At last!!! It’s in the media. Seedorf, maybe very smart and slick or maybe a bit naive, started the campaign… Well, someone had to do it. Ruud couldn’t, after his long absence, Sar should have (and maybe he actually did, who knows)… But Seedorf has shown how well his media-blitzes work. That’s how he got back in Oranje in the first place. So, objective one is achieved. Clarence is back. Now, he starts working at the second objective: get Seedorf in the starting line up and play some FOOTBALL!!!!

Go Clarence. Just hope that San Marco doesn’t see this as “an attack” on him and kicks Clarence out again :-) .

These are the words of the Best Champions League Midfielder of the past season:

“I would love to play with Wesley Sneijder on midfield. I truly feel Oranje will play better football in the 4-4-2 system.” The last months, Van Basten copped a lot of criticism, particularly on the system used, by journo’s, coaches, analysts and by the experts of the Netherlands.blog on internet.

“Look at what Van Basten himself won as a player in a 4-4-2 system. Rinus Michels did it in 1988 after having done the qualification with 4-3-3. And AC Milan played the best and most dominating football with Ruud, Frank and Marco in a 4-4-2 system.”

Seedorf doesn’t feel Van Basten needs to change the system now. “Oh, I think Marco is smart enough not to do it now, but after we qualified. Then there’s more than enough time to experiment and try out the other system. We need to do what’s best for the result and the quality of play.

Seedorf watched the last international games from the bench, despite of all his successes with AC Milan. And he hopes to get a starting ticket soon. “I think we as a team are more dangerous and creative when I can play with Wesley on midfield. It will increase our odds to win.”

Interesting stuff eh? What we were waiting for, a bit. Players to stand up and say: yo Marco! This should be supported by Sar, Wesley, Vaart and Gio to name a few….

And how terrible would it be if some doctor checked JC for a routine check-up and by coincidence found out Johan is suffering dementia for years and years already :-) hahahahahaaaa….

clarence always knows the truth. he’s definitely my favourite dutch player of the last couple of years.

and he’s a nice and smart guy reminding marco that he had his greatest successes in 442 formations.

Finally! I hope some other players back him, because he is absolutely right – with the players we have we should be playing 4-4-2. We don’t have any real wingers, except Robben, we just have a bunch of forwards who want to cut in and try to score by themselves.

Absolutely right Clarence
we have two perfect strikers, ruud and persie
load of mid-fielders
seedorf, vaart, dezeeuw, sneijder, robben…..
He is so optimistic to suggest to try it after qualifiers…
Any point for Basten to see it an attack?

internet not working so well in thailand eh sphinx:)?

well i hope what Seedorf is saying would take place.. Somehow i feel someone influential will eventually make sure to tell marco to switch to 442 after we qualify because it is becoming more and more obvious that that remains our only possible path for success in Switz/Austria next summer.
And also im pretty sure the big shots in the KNVB already see that. I dont think there can be a difference of opinion on the matter anymore.

most importantly I dont feel Oranje followers can endure failure one more time. this is our last competition with our decade’s greats (van nistelrooy, seedorf and van der saar) ..
we need to win and should.

If van Basten fields Seedorf and plays 4-4-2 he at least would lose some pressure on him and will be able to show everybody that he can be flexible and adapt to many circunstances and design tactics according to the players he coaches. If he does it he will have the respect he deserves and if he fails at least he will have the credit for trying something different rather than stick to his stupid 4-3-3 that doesn´t work anymore with the players he has at his disposal. HUP HOLLAND!

there is no reason to play 433 because good left and right backs are able to do the winger’s job. let’s see for ex. during the wc06 italy (teh world champion) played with grosso and zambrotta as left and right back,and they did very good worl on the wings. we have kromkamp and emmanuelson for these positions. and if there is no winger the midfield become more solid,you more easily control the play. there is no more team playing 433 (barca is rather 4-3-2-1),442 and 4231 (like france) seem really effective. the domination does not depend on 3 separated strikers…

sacchi’s milan was one of the most domminant and attacking team of football history. the same with oranje 1988.

marco should accept it and try to use our potential correctly. i hope that the others will back clarence.

saw the interview too; Seedorf is turning into the Oranje boss, even without playing!! he sounds so very calm, proffessional and wise…he really had found some sort of peace within himself

Jan, i think Clarence is reading this blog..this is what you asked for a few weeks ago; players who step up the plate!

very smart of Clarence to say that hes sure vanBasten is not gonna change systems now…that way he leaves room for vanBasten..smart strategy…

and yes, we can play Sneijder and Seedof on one midfield

btw; cause Sneijder is suspended im pretty sure Seedorf is gonna play the Romania match

GO CLARENCE GO CLARENCE

He might be right but Im not sure he wants it for the right reason. But he is an intelligent and outspoken man, this Seedorf, and clearly he has matured from the 90s.

and he’s very intelligent too. milan players just call him “the philosopher.”

on my msn my avatar is an oranje flag. the text is: “oranje&barca forever” .and there is another text: “clarence!clarence!!clarence!!!”

dear jan
when selecting a team think abt 22 palyers not with 11 i think tat is too bad
choose any system442 or443
thinko abt eqal subs on each positins
If we can find allrounders in some positions tat will be better.
roban=babel
nestel=hantlaar
castelen=vanpersie(both r all rounders)
vaart=wesley
zedorf=afalaay(u may not agree)
evander zno= dek saaw
we should not think abt gio and emmmnuelson in the left why becoz physically they are not enough dont have good speed also(i mean the games against italy,france,brazil,argentina,portugal,germany )
then how u r rating hofland

I say van Basten should start trying the 4-4-2 after he beats Romania. The team could probably still beat the other teams even if they were unusef to the formation. Wait til we’ve clinched qualification.

I think we don’t have to wait till be beat Romania, van Basten should change to 4-4-2 for that match because the 4-3-3 is not working. That game is very important and that’s why he should already change the system for that game.

You can only play 4-3-3 if you have wingers like Overmars and Finidi George!

In this team, there’s no a real winger, except Robben (a player who can deliver a dangerous cross).

Do you know what irritates me? No journalist dares to ask Van Basten upfront about this. “Why don’t you try 4-4-2 as you played with AC Milan and Oranje?”. Just ask!

Remember how De Haan changed to 4-4-2 with the U21s? And they – Van Basten and De Haan – would discuss this after the U21 tournament. Well, have you heard anything about it? When does the press pick this up? DAMMIT!
