Ruud to the highest bidder

May 9th, 2006 | By: Mike | 8 Comments »

This is sort of an anti-climax since we all knew it was coming.

10 million though? That doesn’t seem like enough although that possibly puts him in range for clubs like Tottenham.

I’m still not convinced that this won’t have an effect on his performance in Germany particularly since he is not playing in Roy Keane’s testimonial today. They were good friends and Ruud was really looking forward to it. Its come out that it was Sir Alex who booted him out and not Ruud driving away. I hope Ruud can keep his head in the game.

Don’t think it’ll be a problem for RvN to focus on his game. Not that he’s ever needed incentives, but this’ll only make him more determined to shine at the tournament.

Sky Sports have been running a clip of RvN and Alex Ferguson taken last week at the MU training ground. There’s no audio, but their body language was ~very~ negative.

I would hope Ruud would be smart enough not to go to Chelsea. It seems like a black hole for some players. Geremi, Wright-Phillips both are perfectly decent players but are just rotting away on the bench.

Hamburg is a new one…I don’t think I would mind that too much. Its been good for Boulahrouz, van der Vaart and de Jong.

10 million? i wouldnt mind him seeing move to tottenham or psv. it would be a good move for the team, but im not sure what VnR actually wants to achieve after the world cup. i just hope he stays focused on the game, he is an fantastic player, and just because ferguson kicked him out because he didnt like his atitude, doesnt meen he is gonna let us down in germany.

Totally agree. MvB says it helps the Netherlands, as well. If anything, it’s better that he was pushed (if he was) rather than walked: it means he won’t be wondering whether he did the right thing.

Even if he walked, still good (not for MUFC, maybe): fresh challenges, etc.. Our Ruud needs a CL Medal. MU will be focused on the league next season. Like the idea of Hamburg.
