Ruud not in form? BS, says De Kromme
Former Feyenoord and Holland star, Willem van Hanegem in the AD newspaper…
“I noticed that Ruud van Nistelrooy couldn’t get into the game. I noticed also, and was very surprised by it, that most people simply say: yeah, he is misses form. That is just a big bunch of BS… Let me explain: Ruus is a striker that needs the ball in his feet when he makes his run towards the goal, facing the goal. Then, he is deadly. Ruud is the final station in all the passing and to’ing and fro’ing… He is a killer. Now, he wasn’t reached that often and if he was, he was with his back to the goal, or forced to make an action of some sorts… That’s not the way you utilize Ruud’s potential. Last Sunday, it was one of those games… It just doesn’t happen then… Face it, and move to the next match. End of discussion, as far as I am concerned.”

I couldn’t agree more…

hahaaa, i totally agree with de kromme. not every match goes as you like, and tactics change and so do players, and im sure he will score more goals. He believes in him self, and so do the dutch fans. He is a Goal machine, and he will be critical for the Ivory match. RUUUD VAAAN NISTELROOOOOOY!

Good result: three points, but not so sublime as to induce arrogance. Before the game I thought one-nil would be fine, during the game I was shifting to the opinion that two-nil would be less stressful. It would be good if AR passed instead of shooting sometimes. RvN quiet, but that’s no prob yet. RvP should be utilised more. Substitutions were good (compare with Czeckia: two goals up, still leaving Nedved and Rosicky on to waste energy; does Bruckner have no-one on the bench he wants to play?). This ball favours outside-boot shots: no doubts Ruud’s just waiting for the right pass to show us how it’s done.
