Rumours

May 12th, 2006 | By: Mike | 3 Comments »

A bunch of little rumours are all wrapped up in one article. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Arjen Robben are two players the Real Madrid covet but appear to be leaning elsewhere. van Nistelrooy to Atletico Madrid (I’m still not convinced) and Robben will stay at Chelsea(also not convinced).

More surprisingly was that Marco van Basten’s name was mentioned in a list of managers considered for the Madrid position. I think I read a whisper of a rumour a while ago about that but I didn’t really pay close attention to it

That brings up another question. How good of a manager is Marco van Basten? The team made it through qualifying unbeaten against a decent group conceding only three goals along the way. How much is down to the players and how much to van Basten? Does it even matter as long as the team performs well? Admittedly I have more questions than answers, but that’s why I’m throwing this one out on the interweb.

Update:Oh wait, now Robben is alright with the idea of moving to Spain…I don’t even think he knows what he wants.

I can also tell you I hurde rumors saying R Carvalho is also to go to Real.

Any player whith some brain left in their skul must realize Real is not the place to be at the time. Let them clean the house, sober up, and then it´s one of the best places to be. Now… It´s a “funeral pyre”…

Exactly; I see it as a black hole for players. Like Newscastle and AC Milan.

Hmmm…don’t agree. Newcastle, yes. But AC Milan?? Kaka, Seedorf… Great team. And Madrid will be back soon, no worries. As stated before: Van Nistelrooy would do very well at Madrid. Al last a player for Becks to focus on. Aided by Raul, Van will score 20+ goals again…
