Great idea!

Right now the quality of play is ragged. You just can't take players from all over the place and meld them into a unit in a few days.

A mini qualifying tournament would be much more manageable for the players. And I think the clubs might take the trade of not doing a tour vs keeping their top players for the big games.

For example, I think the LA Galaxy were idiots to let Beckhman fly back to England for a F****ing friendly. Surprise, he's tired and gets hurt in the very next match.

And yes, I do think the quality of play would go up to. You'd get the guys together for a month. And be able to make some training.

Other suggestion - they should play two games at friendlies - one for the starters and a second with all the subs.

hahaha..Atlantis!!! nice one!!

on a srious note;

if been thinking about the problem Clubs v National teams for a long time now.. with more and more money involved in club football (esp. the top teams were all the capped players play) club football is getting more and more important

a players loyalty will get problems.. he earns his money at the club, big money and so the club will have its list of rules but he also wants to play for his counrty.. if the club doenst want him to play cause he has a mild injury they can ask him not to play..they pay the money!

think your solution is pretty brilliant..very original thinking.. it could actually work, you can have a final EC with 16 nations...leave all the crap out..

and yes, i feel sorry for the lost city of Atlantis that they will never see the likes of vanNistelrooy and company live at their home town...

"The downside is, that big clubs (Real Madrid, Man Utd, AC Milan) will have to do their lucrative trips to Japan, China, Singapore, Antarctica and Atlantis without the internationals"

Haha, I love how you just slide a little joke in there, unexpected and unannounced.

Your mini qualifying tournament might be a pretty good idea actually.
