PSV can’t make it…

November 8th, 2007 | By: Jan | 3 Comments »

PSV wasn’t able to make it against Zico’s Fenerbahce. The Turks had an easy 2-0 victory over PSV, that was never able to even threaten the hometeam. Wouters had some tactical surprises for this duel, with Bakkal center striker and Tommy van der Leegte left on midfield, but PSV just lacks the discipline to compete at this level. Biggest example was Jan Kromkamp, who was the most threatening player…to PSV with his faulty passing and lacklustre performance. Wouters replaced the former international at half time. The loss of rocks Alex and Cocu hurts the Dutch champs too much, and they will now focus on achieving the third spot, in order to pursue the European competition at UEFA cup level.

Man United and Arsenal already secured a spot in the next phase of the CL. Man United won 4-0, with a cracker goal by Christiano “Goose” Ronaldo :-) . Edwin van der Sar was subbed in the second half due to a foot injury.

Another Dutch touch was Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored a wonderful goal ( the 4-2 ) for Inter Milan against CSKA Moscow. The Russians led in the first half with 0-2 until Zlatan and Cambiasso equalized before the break.

Frank Rijkaard is very close to a spot in the next CL round with the Barca win over Glasgow Rangers, 2-0. The Scots played like sheep in Camp Nou and Barca was able to do anything they wanted. Henry scored the first after a deep pass of Ronnie and a Messi header-assist. Messi scored the second after a beautiful 1-2 combination with Ronaldinho. Messi got a big opp to score his second in the second half but wanted to use his fave left foot where the right boot was more applicable.

Arsenal played 0-0 away against Slavia Prague.

anyone else notice that it is virtually impossible to catch highlights of matches on youtube this week? first, the arsenal-manu game (all vids were pulled really quickly cause of copyright violations)and now the champs league matches (no vids at all). even the usually realiable footytube is no longer a safe bet to catch highlights. anyone know of other sites that might provide match footage?
@caleb, i think i remember you saying that you download the matches on your computer? where do you download them from? i usually try to watch games live from sites like myp2p but often the times are not very convenient (i am at work during CL, and weekend matches are on at 6-7 am)

Igor – Yeah, I found a great site of football fans who spend all their time talking about football and sharing games/highlights. The site is http://www.fbtz.com/
You will have to register first, and get a torrent downloading program for most of the downloads (I use Azureus, but I hear utorrent is good too), and then you will be ready to watch as much football as you like.
