Pim Verbeek Socceroos coach
Australia has a new coach, to lead the Socceroos to the WC2010. Pim Verbeek is the next Dutchman to take on the job after Guus Hiddink. Dick Advocaat gave his contract back after Zenit St Petersburg offered him more dinero.
Pim Verbeek must have had the backing from Guus. He was Hiddink’s assistant with South Korea in the WC2002 and coached South Korea in the Asia Cup. He finished third with the Koreans and resigned after that. Once, Pim was the Prince of Coaches in Holland after having heaps of success with De Graafschap. The – then- angry young coach was signed by Feyenoord but he failed there miserably.
Verbeek is a good communicator and motivator and appears to work in the spirit of Guss… We’ll see….

btw; why would the aussies want Pim Verbeek…what has he ever done to impress them??
btw2; Az lost to Nurnberg yesterday…big mistake by vanGaal lost them the game in the last 5 minutes..he replaced Opdam for a young new guy called Koenders who made to major mistakes that cost them the game and will almost certainly cost them their place in the second round ! (wich is bad for dutch football in general cause it could cost us another spot at the uefa cup)

I love the Socceroos, they are a model of success the Canadian Soccer program could strive for. I hope they can somehow be in a position to inflict revenge on the Italians. All the best with the new coach.

Love the aussies…love the way they take sports seriously… but Verbeek????
