Photo’s from Sydney!!
Your roving reporter bought a new digital camera and used his contacts to sneak into the stadium where Oranje had it’s first training session… It’s as if you were there too, right?
You’re welcome!

I’ve read that the brazilian defender douglas ( twente player ) may play for netherlands , i think he is a good defender but vlaar is better .

Lovely photos Jan, although Huntelaar looks a bit retarded which may explain why he can’t for the life of him find the goal in Milan.

Cool!

reason why i’m not going to watch the match
1. it’s too early in the morning(i live in east coast usa)
2. vdwiel, robben, and dejong are out
3. not happy with the selection of da silva, vdvaart, boulahrouz, babel, and engelaar.

Finn
MO, I’m not sure Van Marwijk will be impressed with your boycott…
By the way, these pics were taken from the AD-website… Don’t want to fool you
.
Douglas is a strong and athletic defender. He’s Brazilian but won’t make it in the Brazilian team (as yet). There is talk about him becoming Dutch, but it’s just talk. He doesn’t even think about it. With Boulah, Heitinga, Maduro, Loovens, Vlaar, Marcellis I don’t think Van Marwijk will go that route unless he proves to be as good as Stam and De Boer combined.

Hi Jan,
do u know of any of commitments the dutch will be making to hopefully get some photos or autographs?
I went to north sydney oval last night however they called that training off, to play at the Showground again.
thanks.

Eh…I’m sorry for that OranjeRules… A hard-on dreaming of a defender who looks like Stam and talks like De Boer??? Good God…you need help man!
Jeremy, I just read in the Dutch papers that many fans and Dutch immigrants flock to the training grounds to get autographs and photo’s and stuff.
Sneijder said in an interview that he’s overwhelmed by the attention: “This is a once in a lifetime trip and I’m happy I can add this to my memories.”
This is from the KNVB:
The Dutch team will train at the Homebush Bay Sydney Showground on Wednesday because the originally chosen venue – the Sydney Oval – was hammered by heavy rain.
Not sure what this means for Thurs and Friday. The group is staying at the Sheraton Sydney and will be seen walking around Darling Harbour, Opera House, Sydney Bridge and possibly Bondi Beach. Don’t know when though.
I’ll text my contacts and check for more opps, ok?
Watch this space!

“Watch this space!”
i always do

Bondi Beach….Hmmm…Last time I was there I thought I was going to get a glimpse of a few nice and big charlies Oranje Angel style.
Unfortunately there were more Speedo’s on display with a a few extra cucumbers added down the pants. Not my cup of tea unfortunately.

where are they training on thursday??

Hi Jan.
On thursday, i waited around the Sheraton hotel..
Much to my delight, the players immediatly returned from training on their team bus..
luckily i recieved at least 18 signatures from players and management which was fantastic as the dutch boys walked to and from there hotel.
may turn up on friday night for the training at the Sfs.
thanks for the additional info

on Friday I waited around the front of the sheraton hotel for 6 hours from 1 o’clock to 6 o’clock and nothing!
at when I first arrived i asked is there any chance of seeing the players they told me they were on a cruise were due back at 2:30 i waited at 4:00pm i asked are they back yet? and i was told they were in there rooms resting..
I waited until 6pm and asked again when i was told that they had exited the hotel through the back exit due to traffic at the front

Sorry to hear that Mikel…

Thanks for the reply Jan
I’ll guess i have to wait until next time
