Phillip Cocu back in Oranje!

February 16th, 2008 | By: Jan | 10 Comments »

Well, not in…Cocu is signed as the future Oranje Team Manager’s - Bert van Marwijk’s - assistant. After the EC, the 101 x international will start the short coach-course in Zeist and aid the team manager in the WC qualifications. Frank de Boer might also be added to the team, but the former Ajax and Barcelona star wants to combine this job with his Ajax 2 managership.

Marco van Basten is close to signing a contract at Ajax, for the top job starting next season.

The players will learn a lot from Cocu, he is a real exaple for all and he knows these players very well. It looks like Bert van Marwijk is doing his job.

So is it official that van Berwijk is the Oranje’s next coach?

Drenthe scores again, maybe he’ll be a Real Madrid regular after all.

If Drenthe keeps playing he could be an option for the EC, don’t you think?

The fact that he scores doesn’t mean a thing… Maybe he scores but at the same time neglects his core tasks… I don’t think Drenthe is an option. We have Vaart, Robben, Babel, Gio, De Cler, Emanuelson, Bouma for those left positions. I can’t see MvB introduce Drenthe to the elite, unless Vaart and Robben break a leg…

I think Drenthe is a player with a lot of balls and that’s what we need in the Orange team. But I think he’ll go to the Olympics.
