Otman Bakkal: Happy and proud!

bakkal

Happy and proud. Those are two words that came to mind when Otman Bakkal heard he was called up to replace the injured Wesley Sneijder at Oranje. It will be his first appearance in the big team. Right after receiving the call, the PSV midfielder jumped in his car to drive to Heerenveen to join Van Marwijk’s selection. “This is very special to me,” the 24 year old said.

“I heard it at the end of the day. Team manager Hans Jorritsma called. Please report tonight at the players’ hotel. So, I jumped in my car to join the group for the game in Friesland.”

“I think it’s rather special that I can train with all those great players. I did play in most representative teams in the Oranje youth, but this is truly special,” gushed Bakkal.

The creative midfielder from Morrocan descent made a name for himself under Hiddink in the PSV selection but lost his spot under Stevens. Now, with Fred Rutten at the reigns, the dynamic player is one of PSV’s key players, scoring prolifically. He’s the third PSV player in the group, with Afellay and Engelaar…

Ruud van Nistelrooy said some tough things in De Telegraaf :-) .

“I want to play at the WC. I haven’t told the team manager yet, but I don’t have to yet. First I want to make sure I’m ready and when I am, I will call him. I’ll consider leaving in January when I have to. I’m topfit and I can compete with any striker. I have always been the number one striker at all the teams I played and I am highly confident I can make it here again. But for now, I’ll await my chances. I’m not impatient yet. But this mustn’t take too long, otherwise I’ll consider my options.”

HAHA! Ruud is BACK!

if van nistelrooy comes back, i think we should play with two strikers him as the striker, and van persie as the shadow striker. so maybe 4-4-2 is good for us even though my favourite is 4-3-3 or 3-4-3.

van persie in the presence of ruud can be like bergkamp with kluivert, nice couple, but my point is that van persie should not play on the wing anymore, he can do better closer to the net.

Well, I´m going local and betting that Portugal and Russia get eliminated. I think it will be tough that these results can become reality but if they do I will be a happy man hehe…Portugal out!!!!!!!
