@Alaa: Maybe we didn’t score enough, but we won every single game in the quals. Nobody else did. Say what you want about the group, but Norway and Scotland aren’t all that easy to beat home and away. In fact Norway has beaten Germany and Switzerland AWAY during the same period, so whatever BvM did actually worked. They are both going to SA.

I keep saying give the man a chance, he has earned it. If he wants to start Bommel or his wife, I really don’t care as I think BvM can do whatever he wants until proven differently. And a few dodgy friendlies across the planet does not count in my book.

I think he knows what he is doing in a big way, and I am as positive as I have been since 1974. No joking. I see us in the final, and then only the Lord knows.

Just read a story on Stekelenburg and the qualifiers and realized he only let 2 goals in (one was a penalty) thats probaly why we play 4-2-3-1 which is actually 4-2-4. But people will complain no matter what is played, everyone knows it a little better. If we beat Italy 3-0 you will get those who say – yes but VDS saved us and we only countered luckily – HELL winning the world cup is all about luck, counter attacks and having players in form be they VDS/Sneijder or Boulah !!!

Carlos bro,EDVS played two crucial excellent games for us in qualifying campagin.i think Vorm also played a huge role in hamdpden park in tha least match. So credits goes to three keepers.

About 3-0 victory over italy and 4-1 victory over france.
The earlier goals opend up their diffence.Really RVN’s goal kicked italian’s A@#$.i really liked it.so they came in to our half and that was enogh for znijder.
Maluda’s idotic mistake helped our powerman kuyt to score that header. But victory was due to pure class of EDVS saves nad Roben, though znijder played well.

Gee…no doubt Oranje has fans all over the World: Holland (of course),USA, México, Brazil, Norway, Egytp, India, Singapur, Australia, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, Hungary, and many other countries (pardon me if I forget to mention one of the countries of the members of this great blog).

And it´s very exciting to see the debates for the World Cup. Everybody here is a potential coach and most of us are optimistic about Oranje´s chances. But the truth is that to predict who is going to win the tournament is highly difficult. In 2006 everybody said Brazil was the candidate and they failed. Nobody had Italy in their minds. As Finnster showed us with the bettings, Holland is not in the top five favorites and that is positive because the pressure will be with England, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Germany, Argentina and even France. Holland can benefit from that but for me they are obligated to go for gold. Weather they achieve it that will be different but the goal has to be one: BE WORLD CHAMPIONS. If they make it, this generation will be remembered to put Holland´s football name where it belongs. Holland/Oranje= Football masters, Glorious players. But some people who don´t see the big picture think that Holland´s football is below par or overrated because the National Team hasn´t won a World Cup.

But for me Holland means glorious football because clubs like Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV have conquered Europe with less resources than other top European clubs and Holland has produced some of the most exciting players of all times such as Cruyff, Gullit, van Basten, Bergkamp, etc. It´s time that history will remember Holland as World Champion and although many experts do not mention Holland´s as potential winners, for me Holland has the potential to win. Luck, concentration, team spirit, good coaching and the right strategies will have to be there every second if not we know what will happen. Like Cruyff said one time: Holland´s biggest enemy is Holland. He said it before the 2000 European Championship game vs. Italy and we all know who was Holland´s toughest rival in that horrible game: HOLLAND (missing like 10,000 penalties).

Mario my prediction on 2002 went exactly well it was Brazil.they won that.Portugal was the most surprising exit for me in that worldcup.Still i feel pain for spain in that worldcup.
In 2006 mine was France/netherlands(For the dutch you know the reason.)i was the only one person who did bet against brazil in my hostel.i won that, rest of 25 members went in to tear……
Now my pick for 2010 is Brazil rest of places i cannt predict now coz it depnds on draw.but i wish and hoping for an orange crowning.
Wait for december 4th

hahaha Mario ! Franz Beckenbauer summed it up nicely in 1990 when they were drawn against Holland. He said “Only Holland can Beat Holland” and that is so true !

Tonight, I wish both France & Portugal fail in the second round of 2010WC qualifier. If not, I hope in the final draw, oranje’s group will have France or South Africa.

Oranje can beat France again with 4-1!

Tiju – you and 3 billion other football fans ALWAYS pick Brazil in a World Cup (hahaha). In Singapore if they dont follow England (due to BPL) they will choose Brazil (then Holland). After Brazil, usually for most non partizan fans it’s Holland – only due to their style and flair. I have a few other teams I like to see do well. Australia (and NZ) Denmark and of course love watching Brazil ! I would also shout for Scotland if they had made it.
Bobotoh which channel in Indonesia (TVRI?) – sometimes I can pick up the telecast here. This is just future reference in case we dont get it in Singapore.

Carlos brother..i choose brazil not because of their flair football.i am not brazil fan i hate teams like Italy,Germany,Brazil the most, but i am not that blind to see the reality. Why i choose brazil coz ,It is based on balance, luck, some tremendus match winners in their team unlike kuyt.

@Mohamed: i watch the late afternoon egypt-algeria and support egypt!! hopefully it will be an interesting game with lots of tension. the african champion should be in south africa.

actually, like Carlos i would like to see have some other teams performing well in south africa(obviously not against oranje): spain, cameroon (eto’o),ivory coast, australia, usa.

Tiju:

To predict Brazil is like saying that in my country México one of the favorite foods are tacos and nachos hehe. But it´s clever of you to pick Brazil because your chances are high.
