Oranje and Van Basten

San Marco had to replace both Stekelenburg and Dirk Kuyt. Kuyt is injured, Stekelenburg will miss at least the Rumania match due to family circumstances. Boy Waterman will replace Stekel and Danny Koevermans will replace Kuyt.

The KNVB has made a statement about the rumors that Ajax wants Van Basten/Van ‘t Schip to co-manage Ajax next to Oranje.

“We wouldn’t want to miss Marco and John for a 100 million euros. That’s out of the question. We want them to fully focus on Oranje’s quest and look forward to an exciting tournament in 2008.”

It seems Ajax could decide to let Adrie Koster - the experienced youth coach at Ajax - manage the first team untiil the next dream coach becomes available…
