No Oranje Kalou. Ever.

May 23rd, 2006 | By: Mike | 4 Comments »

Salomon Kalou has decided after his latest failure to play for the Netherlands that he will play for the Cote d’Ivoire if asked. I think its about time the boy came around to his senses. There is too much of this naturalization business going around. Who knows, if Kalou had agreed to play for his native country all along and been included in the roster the Cote d’Ivoire might have been serious SERIOUS contenders. They’re a good squad now but who knows what could have been.

Its a pity the boy dream of playing for the Dutch has gone all Orange. The World Cup will have given him a platform to showcase his talent and maybe secure that dream move away from Holland.

Lets up he is welcome with open arms into the Ivorian team.

I counted to ten – twice – before writing this post, since most football lovers in Holland are totally pissed off by the shenanigans of would be Prime Minister Verdonk, the iron lady of Holland (or so she hopes). This megalomanic power-hungry ego-tripper decided to not give Kalou the Dutch residency, although 1) he meets the criteria and 2) there is a loophole in the immigration laws on purpose for these type of situations. We even granted a Canadian snowboarder residency some years back, so he could perform his tricks in a Oranje suit at some world cup race. He came in 113!!! He doesn’t speak Dutch and he doesn’t live in Holland. HUH? So, when Van Basten, Cruyff, Van Hanegem and Hiddink supported Kalou’s wishes, she decided to use this as a tool to show the world who’s boss. She put the arguments aside and said NO. On the basis of football arguments, no less. So interviewers asked her, if her know how of the game was better than, say, JC’s… :-) . She turned Kalou, Cruyff and all the rest down… We all hated that.
It got worse when a Dutch mp – born in Africa, black, female and very popular in Holland – was found guilty of lying about her refugee status and about most things on which her Dutch residency was offered to her. So, people wanted to know if she would maybe make a good right winger for ORanje :-) .

V Basten has said, tongue in cheek, that he would block the handing out of free match tickers to politicians and hoped to be able to call Verdonk on tactical matters if he would not know what to do with the team anymore…

Unfair, this…

How do you think the Ivory Coast people will welcome him back?

Im not to sure if ivory coast will want him back. he is a good player, but the 23 man squad, ( correct me if im wrong ) had already been chosen and included to the coaches idea’s. That boy just wants to play football in a world cup, he doesnt care for which team he would play. Marco , cruyff and all the others went through so much hassle trying to get kalou a dutch passport, and now he just walks back to where he can play football. Lets hope they won’t let kalou in the ivory squad, so we can keep him for euro 2008. and Jan, i totally agree with you. verdonk is really starting to piss me off with all her stupid acts. Van mijn part mag ze oprotten. sorry, didnt count to ten, but she is a ****** Biatch

This man (Kalou) has no pride. He is a shame. How can you deny your own country for some folks who don’t want you? What a disgrace!
