Apparently Marco van Basten never even thought about giving Dennis Bergkamp a call. Oh well, we’ll let the great man get on with his retirement then.

Van Basten is probably right but I think Bergkamp lifting the World Cup would be a fitting end to a magnificent carreer… oh wel…

It would have been fitting for Bergkamp to win the World Cup but not all great players get to experience this. This is why everyone has to seize the opportunities when they show themselves.

Bergkamp was up there with Van Basten. Ruud will be too when he finishes.
