More stuff…

Ajax wants FC Groningen player Luis Suarez… The 20 year old Uruguyan player was one of the revelations of this season and Ajax feels it needs more young blood. But FC Groningen says “no, piss off”. So Ajax says: hang on, this means a step up for this boy… And FC Groningen says: no it doesn’t! We played UEFA cup football and so did you! Last season FC Kopenhagen stopped you from playing CL football, so what “step up” are you talking about???

I like that… :-)

Jerzy Dudek, the Liverpool goalie of 2005 fame, signed a contract at Real Madrid as Casillas understudy. Feyenoord wanted to sign the Polish international again, but he opted for the biggest club in the world.

Fabio Capello is looking to pursue his career in the US, hoping to be the Chosen One who at long last will be able to put US football on the charts.

Jose Mourinho declared he wants to play with wingers again, instead of the diamond shaped midfield he used last season. With Robben, Kalou, Cole and the new French signing - forgot his name - he wants to play more dominantly. This could mean the end of Michael Ballack. Mourinho introduced the diamond to allow Lampard and Ballack to play together, but Mourinho wasn’t impressed with the German input last season.

Feyenoord’s talented right winger Tim Vincken shouldn’t leave the club, thinks van Marwijk. The youngster, left out of the U21 squad by De Haan, wanted to leave Feyenoord what with all the new signings, but Van Marwijk expressed his faith in the Overmars-like striker. Vincken is the third right-legged striker with Slory and Castelen. But Van Marwijk thinks Vincken could very well handle his tasks on the left wing as well.

And then…

Robin van Persie is back! He missed the last months of the season due to a foot injury. Saturday, in the first test match of this season, Robin was back. He played a strong game against Barret, with an assist on Adebayor and a fierce header on the crossbar. But, the real spotlights were reserved for Nacer Barazite! It doesn’t sound Dutch, but the 17 year old is a product of the NEC Nijmegen youth development system and was signed by Arsenal in 2006. He made his debut in the second half, replacing Van Persie, and scored a cracker with a hard diagonal shot. Barazite is a youth international for Oranje… Great things are coming… :-)

nacer barazite, this guy is born in 1990, veryyyyy young, i feel so happy when i see how big clubs look for these young dutch players, but at the same time i feel a little bit sad because the erdivisie can’t compete with the other big leagues in europe.

never have heared of this guy, lets see…

@Alaa; it may be not so great for the eredivisie ,it has been the reality since the ‘Bosman arrest(dont know the english word for that one!)
but its not a bad thing for Oranje!!
they either stay in Holland till theyre 21-24 or so and then go abroad with a lot of experience at a (some what) decent level of clubfootball (dutch) or they go abroad and learn there trade the hard way..if theyre good enough theyll make it in Oranje either way

i still believe that for Oranje the Bosman thing wasnt that bad at all but it was bad for our clubfootball wich will never be as strong as it was before but that means it gives young players the change to compete, get experience and learn their trade at a (pretty) decent level..thats all good for Oranje in my view

grtz
