This Kessler is a disgrace!!! this is a guy born form a weatly family with a silver spoon and now he talks about ‘ spoiled’ policeman!!! without the police there would be no football at all … i have been to many matches in the past and i can assure you that these officers have to put up with a great deal of violance and assaults … the whole of Holland was pissed at the guy (and still are) and lets not forget that it was Kesler who brought us vanBasten …

without the police there would be no footy at all, clubs and KNVB should be thankful!!

This Kesler fellow sounds like a complete and utter idiot. Why is it that in this day and age you still have the “boy’s club” syndrome at the head of so many Fooball Associations in the world? FIFA itself could do with some new blood too…As they say, it all starts from the top.

The issue of policing at stadiums is very important and clubs should be willing to pay their part. After all, you want families to be able to bring their kids to games so they can get the full experience without having to worry about some crackheads and God forbid, their health and lives. Given the fact that each European league is getting bigger TV contracts(very much despite the “quality” of the product…), they should be willing to pay the police what it costs to make it a safe experience. Having the “Soccer King” in a country making statements like these is downright disgusting.

There just was a court case in EPL where Wigan refused to pay a Euro 450 000 bill for extra policing services. Their argument was that they were fine paying for the costs inside the stadium but not the surrounding areas. Well, unless you are part of Star Trek and have teleportation capabilities how are you going to get safely in or out of the stadium without policing of rival fans? The judge threw the case out and ordered Wigan to pay. However, he also said that these matters where not cut in stone and urged police and clubs sit down BEFORE the season begins and agree on services and fees. Kind of makes sense in my book.

Sure there are some “bad eggs” in the police, but lets not make them the villains when there are some other white collar thieves lining their pockets and egos, while having no-one to answer to, and a job as long as they fancy having it.

i agree… talk about poor people management. what a farce!!

I doubt theres much to do against him though.. he seems powerful enough to be able to keep his position.

This stupid man, Kesler….he is a complete asshole, he is the one who should be fired before than van Basten…his decisions lack logic and what he says is disgusting for everybody. I think he is ruining Dutch football, somebody do something againste him now!
