More Dutch players on the move

August 23rd, 2006 | By: Mike | 3 Comments »

Andre Ooijer has fallen out with those at PSV and a move to Blackburn appears imminent. Blackburn are trying to solidify their back line in order to aid in their fight for Premiership survival.

Next up is Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and his sideways move to Celtic. All that needs to be agreed on is personal terms. Those might be more difficult than expected but it will probably get done.

I am not really happy with all these late transfers and that long transfer window. I mean, it screws up the season start for most talented squads in Holland. Only Ajax is unfazed, but look at AZ, Feyenoord, PSV. Now Matijsen is named as a potential mover, Heijtinga, even Huntelaar is not off the radar (will he ever??). Still, it’s good for Oranje IF these guys all get to play…

I don’t Jan’s move to Celtic is sideways – Celtic ia a huge club. Perhaps in terms of leagues it is a sideways move, but as clubs, there is really no comparison!
